  1. LOL Do you REALLY think that i'm trying to install vista without HDD space? I've got 600 Gigs of HDD, and PLENTY of free space and partitions! Also, try to read the post The reason my C: drive is only 10 MB, is because I dual boot from several partitions, and like one small partition (called system partition) to contain the boot loader and boot configuration (boot.ini) - The reason why this error is odd, is because my setup is the Microsoft recommended way!
  2. I'm trying to install Vista Beta 1 in a dual-boot configuration. When i'm booting directly from the DVD, it just reboots after loading the install files, so i'd try to install from XP instead. Now i'm recieving this error: "Setup has detected that you do not have anough free space on your system partition. Error code is [0x80070070]. Approximately [477 MB] of free space is required on your system partition [C:] for Setup to continue." WHY??? Who ever said that I was GONNA install it on drive C:, and for the matter, why could it not just pick another partition with sufficient space for the temp install files during installation (which SP installations do!)?? Can I trick the installer into copying the files somewhere else??
  3. Well, I gave it a try and guess what: Error in line 20 in winnt.sif!! Line states: ProgramFilesDir (x86)= "G:\Program Files (x86)" Nobody still got this working or got a solution?
  4. I saw the thread just like you, but only somebody *guesses* it would be like that, nobody has confirmed it, and frankly - when I receive an error using "ProgramFilesDir", I don't think it will work just if I add another line to the winnt.sif!
  5. Did "ProgramFilesDir" option in unattended setups (winnt.sif) just disappear in X64 ?? I did several trial'n'error always ending up in some error, only when this line is applied in winnt.sif. I understand the concept was changed in X64, since they now want to seperate 64bit and 32bit applications in independent directories - But I guess M$ was in such a rush to pull X64, they didn't think about this option. A look in ref.chm (\support\deploy.cab) showed none results. I hope somebody has a solution to this problem. N.B. I could of course just rename the entrys in reg afterward install, but my experience is that this could easily lead to problems!
  6. You should not mess with system files in that way. However I have discovered a very easy method to archive exactly what you want. I thought the way you apply a language to a "Multilanguage OS" were limited to a Multilanguage installation. This is however not true - it can be applied to ANY install !!! (Maybe limited to english OS, I have not yet tried). In this case, you need a language package for Windows XP and I can confirm that this works perfectly on MCE 2005, but it might be slightly difficult to find these packages, as they are of course only supplied with "Multilanguage OS'es", but use your imagination . Also I think that there might be some licensing trouble, but my personal oppinion is that I think these packages should be free for everybody (or even included in every release). ...oh just one thing: the MCE application itself are still english, as the language package only affects the system.
