  1. Driver is fine, I wasn't using /tempdrive:c When I use the F6 method the drivers install, I already modified the txtsetup.sif and Winnt.sif following the guides on this forum. Here is my Winnt.sif, do I need to add the [MASSSTORAGE] section for a network install ? [Data] Autopartition = 1 MsDosInitiated = 0 UnattendedInstall = "Yes" [Unattended] UnattendMode = FullUnattended UnattendSwitch = "Yes" OemPreinstall = "Yes" OemSkipEula = "Yes" FileSystem = * WaitForReboot = "No" NoWaitAfterTextMode = 1 NoWaitAfterGUIMode = 1 DriverSigningPolicy = Ignore NonDriverSigningPolicy = Ignore OemPnPDriversPath="Si3114" [SetupParams] SkipMissingFiles = "No" [GuiUnattended] AutoLogon = "No" EncryptedAdminPassword = "No" TimeZone = 04 OEMSkipRegional = 1 OemSkipWelcome = 1 [LicenseFilePrintData] AutoMode = PerServer AutoUsers = 999 [Components] Iis_common = On Iis_inetmgr = On Iis_nntp = On Iis_smtp = On Iis_webadmin = On Iis_webdav = On Iis_www = On Iis_asp = On [UserData] ProductKey = "XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX" ComputerName = DEPLOY64 FullName = * OrgName = "CSD" [RegionalSettings] Language = "0409" [Networking] InstallDefaultComponents = "Yes" [WindowsFirewall] Profiles = WindowsFirewall.TurnOffFirewall [WindowsFirewall.TurnOffFirewall] Mode = 0 [Identification] JoinWorkgroup = "NintS"
  2. I have to use the floppy method for right now to install W2K3 X64 over the network with Si3114 drivers. I am using Winnt32.exe and when the textmode starts, I use F6, choose the driver from the floppy, loads driver and textmode continues. When the actual copying of files begins, error message says it cannot copy the si3114.sys file or any of the other files from the floppy. I have created 3-4 floppies of this driver and it is not corrupted files. I already tried the [MassStorage].. method in the network install and got BSOD's. Is there something I need to change on the floppy (txtsetup.oem..etc..) or in the network setup to get Textmode to copy these files from the floppy and load the driver. These are not the si3114 RAID drivers because the controller is the SATALink controller on board a Tyan 2285 board. THX
  3. Issue with Text Mode through Network install My network install works until it reads my txtsetup.oem, which I have to do through F6, because when the drivers are copied from C:\$win_NT$.~LS\AMD64 during the intial copy of files to the hard drive through the 1st GUI before textmode, it says it cannot copy the si3114.sys file, these files are there. Even when TextMode starts and I use the F6 key to load the drivers from floppy, the drivers seem to load but then it says it can't copy the files, I assume from the floppy. I have the correct lines in Winnt.sif for MassStorage Drivers and correct files in $OEM$\TEXTMODE.
  4. Still got BSOD STOP 7B Did everything right! ??
  5. Did not work, still recieving BSOD STOP 7B even after adding entries. ??
  6. I didn't know about modifing the hive.inf, I will try that out. Thank you ! Do need all the lines you wrote or just the si3114 stuff?
  7. Issue with Text Mode through Network install, files are already copied locally through /makelocalsource. I gave up on the CD install, my network install works until it reads my txtsetup.oem, successfully loads all driver files but says that txtsetup.oem has errors on line, 50 which is Line 50; value = ProblemDevices, "Maxtor 4D060H3 DAK05GK0", REG_SZ, "MaxMode = UDMA-5" I removed this line and tried again, this time it was line 40. Then I noticed that both drivers use the same filename, how can I remove the IA64 driver, I already tried removing all referances to the IA64 driver but Windows did not like this file after these mods. I remember reading something about changing the lines at the end of disk1 and disk2 for FAT32 or NTFS but I can't find it. ; This file installs the SiI 3114 non-RAID serial ATA driver as part of text ; mode setup on 64-bit versions of Windows XP and Windows Server 2003. ; ; Copyright (C) 2003 - 2005 by Silicon Image, Inc. ; All rights reserved [Disks] disk1 = "Silicon Image SiI 3114 SATALink Driver Installation Disk",\ia64\Si3114.inf,\ia64 disk2 = "Silicon Image SiI 3114 SATALink Driver Installation Disk",\amd64\Si3114.inf,\amd64 [Defaults] SCSI = Si3114_AMD64 [SCSI] ; HwComponent section Si3114_AMD64 = "Silicon Image SiI 3114 SATALink Controller (64-bit Extended)" Si3114_IA64 = "Silicon Image SiI 3114 SATALink Controller (Itanium)" [Files.SCSI.Si3114_AMD64] driver = disk2,si3114.sys, Si3114 driver = disk2,SiWinAcc.sys, SiFilter inf = disk2,SI3114.inf dll = disk2,SilSupp.cpl catalog = disk2, Si3114.cat [Files.SCSI.Si3114_IA64] driver = disk1,si3114.sys, Si3114 driver = disk1,SiWinAcc.sys, SiFilter inf = disk1,SI3114.inf dll = disk1,SilSupp.cpl catalog = disk1, Si3114.cat [HardwareIds.SCSI.Si3114_AMD64] id = "PCI\VEN_1095&DEV_3114&SUBSYS_31141095", "Si3114" Line 40 id = "PCI\VEN_1095&DEV_3114&SUBSYS_288610F1", "Si3114" [HardwareIds.SCSI.Si3114_IA64] id = "PCI\VEN_1095&DEV_3114&SUBSYS_31141095", "Si3114" id = "PCI\VEN_1095&DEV_3114&SUBSYS_288610F1", "Si3114" [Config.Si3114] value = Parameters\PnpInterface, "5", REG_DWORD, 1 value = ProblemDevices, "", REG_SZ, "" value = ProblemDevices, "Maxtor 4D060H3 DAK05GK0", REG_SZ, "MaxMode = UDMA-5" Thanks for any help you can give.
  8. Is it possible to use an alternative TEXTMODE dir for unattended mode. We have a RIS install but are doing AMD 64 installs also, the TEXTMODE dir we use is different for AMD64 and it will not install with the current one. Can I tell the setup program to use a different TEXTMODE dir ? THX
  9. Thank you ! I will try this. Do you know why this fixes the issue ?
  10. Correct, the drivers load correctly they are seen at the bottom of the textmode screen while loading. Once the textmode starts to switch to the next screen, (partition, etc..) The error message appears, "No hard drives found....." then the rest of the message you of course know the rest of the error message. thx
  11. I finaly got my 3114 drivers to load during textmode in Windows 2003 Server AMD 64 bit. When the text drivers load, I can see the Silicon Image 3114 drivers (non-RAID) load no problem but when the text mode is complete, Windows can't find the hard drive. The drivers are for XP 64 and W2K3 64 AMD but I can't understand why they do not work. I have tried Silicon Image drivers and Tyan drivers (the server has a Tyan board). Any ideas ? THX
  12. I have modified the txtsetup file to install HP 5i and 6i drivers for Windows 2003. I have doubled checked the entries and have this error message: "The entry in the [sourceDiskFile] section of the INF is corrupt or missing. This is for the HPcisss files. Here is my entries: [sourceDisksFiles] hpcisss.cat = 1,,,,,,3_,4,1 hpcisss.inf = 1,,,,,,3_,4,1 hpcisss.sys = 1,,,,,,3_,4,1 [HardwareIdsDatabase] PCI\VEN_0E11&DEV_B060&SUBSYS_40700E11 = "HpCISSs" PCI\VEN_0E11&DEV_B178&SUBSYS_40800E11 = "HpCISSs" PCI\VEN_0E11&DEV_B178&SUBSYS_40820E11 = "HpCISSs" PCI\VEN_0E11&DEV_B178&SUBSYS_40830E11 = "HpCISSs" PCI\VEN_0E11&DEV_0046&SUBSYS_40910E11 = "HpCISSs" PCI\VEN_0E11&DEV_0046&SUBSYS_409A0E11 = "HpCISSs" PCI\VEN_0E11&DEV_0046&SUBSYS_409B0E11 = "HpCISSs" PCI\VEN_0E11&DEV_0046&SUBSYS_409C0E11 = "HpCISSs" PCI\VEN_0E11&DEV_0046&SUBSYS_409D0E11 = "HpCISSs" [sCSI.Load] HpCISSs = HPCISSs, 4 [sCSI] HpCISSs = "Smart Array 5300 Controller" HpCISSs = "Smart Array 5i" HpCISSs = "Smart Array 532 Controller" HpCISSs = "Smart Array 5312 Controller" HpCISSs = "Smart Array 6i" HpCISSs = "Smart Array 641 Controller" HpCISSs = "Smart Array 642 Controller" HpCISSs = "Smart Array 6400 Controller" HpCISSs = "Smart Array 6400 U320 EM Controller" I have makecab'ed all the driver files and added this entry to the winnt.sif OemPnPDriversPath="Drivers\HP5i6i","Drivers\LSI" Drivers are located in /i386/$OEM$/$1/Drivers/HP5i6i. The LSI drivers work just fine. THX
  13. Is it possible to install Management & Montoring components in the WINNT.SIF with Windows Server 2003 ? I have searched this forum all over and have not found this hack. THX !
