I've searched the site for a similar problem but have had no luck. I'm running XP home. It ran sweet until service pack one, then driver conflicts forced the blue screen of death to visit my home. symptons to it's arrival were 'unexpected monitor hibernation' & nvidia driver conflicts. Solved the problem by creating another one. our pc was bought from pcworld! so the xp install disc are some b**sh*t Advent factory install, basically you lose everything on your drive to reinstall over it. Since then nothing has quite been the same. Still no more blue screens & no more unexpected monitor hibernation. Then we got a Mac ibook. The pc & Mac are both wireless to an airport express (that i use as a router). for XP to commnuicte with the airport express I needed to install Apples mDNSResponder. For the mDNSresponder to install & work the XP needed Service pack2. I installed & the critical updates And had problems ever since. The monitor suddenly goes into hibernation, (you know the blue screen of death is never far behind!) Why does my monitor keep hibernating? I have turned this function of yet I power up, login & within seconds the monitor quits going into hibernation why? Help!!!
