I'm getting this error after formatting the hard drive and beginning the windows xp pro installation. Setup cannot copy the file: "filename".*.*

Does anyone own a Presario 5108US that has successfully installed windows xp. This would be the 1.2 ghz athlon, 256 mb sdram dimm, 40 gig harddrive. I'm having major troubles.

Is there a good site online to find technical documentation for an AMD K7 motherboard. I've searched the amd site for 3 hours. I'm tired and my eyes have turned to goo. Can anyone help me

Well, I've tried reseating the ram, I've gotten three sticks of known good Ram. I've updated the BIOS and was unable to find any reason why the BIOS would bomb the install. Any other suggestions?

Really. I never thought of that. Do you suppose it's bad or just needs taken out to reset it.

I am currently working on re-installing Windows XP pro SP1 on my girlfriends computer. It boots up with the cd just fine and I can get through most of the setup options. However, when I get to the part where it copies the setup files from the cd, it will not copy certain files. I thought there might be a problem with the hard drive, cd-drive, or cd. So, I removed these elements from her computer and put them into mine. Everything worked perfectly. Is there something I may be misssing here.
