I'm having trouble up starting up windows 98SE. I installed windows 98SE and it was restarting the pc to load up windows for the first time. It loads up to the windows logo loading screen, then it flicks to a black screen for about a second, then it goes back to the windows logo and then to the Windows 98 Startup Screen where it shows the options like Normal, Safe Mode. It freezes at this screen. I used the log option and it freezes up at ESDI_506. I have tried a lot of the ESDI_506 files I have found around the forum but none of them work. Right now I'm on windows xp which is on my sata drive channel 0. My windows 98 installation is on an ide hard drive channel 4. The sata drive is 160gb, the ide drive is 80gb. I have 4gb memory. I put my system.ini file and bootlog.txt file on pastebin. system.ini file bootlog.txt file Any help would be appreciated

So I'm trying to install windows 98 on the second hard drive in my pc, It's 80gb. I have a windows 98 disc and I boot from it so I get to the A:\ Screen. I ran "FORMAT /S C:" and it worked fine. After that I ran SETUP but scan disk was saying how the hard drive is invalid or something weird. It wants to scan the hard drive for errors so I hit ok, but once it starts the surface scan it will take a very long time since it's an 80gb hard drive, about 3 hours. Is there any way to stop scan disk from doing this? Also I'm running windows xp as my main os. Hopefully I explained this well

I started my computer up last night after a power outage and out of nowhere i get the blue screen of death. I restarted the computer wondering what happened and everything looked good. I tried to access the internet and it was down. I went to the networking center and it told me the service wasn't started. I opened services up and I saw that 9 services that are supposed to start automatically are not up. I tried to start them up one at a time and I kept getting the: I have tried system restore, and start recovery from the CD but it didn't work Do any of you know how I can fix this? Thanks in advance!

I have Windows XP SP2 and its been working fine for a couple months (its a fairly new pc) until this happened. Now when ever i right click on anything on the desktop it shows it loading......and then it stops loading and shows the regular mouse. Then it shows it loading again. Then its done. But nothings right clicked!. Then explorer crashes and show the "send errror report, dont send error report, or debug" I hit debug and then the debugger crashs too. I did find a crash file...(I moved it to the desktop for easier access. It was in C:/WINDOWS/Internet Logs/) Once i see I am thinking thats it a problem with my Zone Alarm Security Suite, but it never did this before. So i shut it down and explorer still crashed. I dont want to uninstall my security suite but... Maybe a smarter person than me can find out whats happening because right now I'm out of options, besides DELL Support.. HELP!!!!
