  1. Hi, I want to connect my desktop and laptop wireless. I have USRobotics 9108 ADSL modem. Both machines can connect to wireless and surf the net, but they don't see each other. I run Windows 2003 Server on my desktop and Windows XP SP2 on my laptop. With my previous wireless modem, Linksys WAG354G, I was able to connect my desktop and run my websites on it. I know very little about networking, and I have to connect to my desktop to develop my websites and applications. So any help will be appriciated. Thanks...
  2. I_Broke_My_MHZ, thank you for your reply. Yes this is just a User1 and User2 situation. But as I told at my previous post, when I add the User1 and check modify from the security tab, User1 can add/edit/delete folders/files (which I don't want him to delete). But when I uncheck modify, then the user cannot delete folder/files (that's OK) but also cannot add/edit files. And this is what I don't want. The user must have the right to add/edit folder/files but not delete. I hope I'm clear now. Thanks....
  3. Hi, We have a file server on a P3-800 Windows 2000 machine. All users connect to that machine and work on it. I want to restrict some user rights on that server. I want to prevent some users to delete folders/files. For ex; I want userA can delete folders/files in folderX but userB cannot delete folders/files in the same folderX. All users will have the rights to add/edit folders/files, only not delete. If I uncheck the modify right on a folder, users cannot delete folders/files but this time they also cannot edit files in that folder. I looked inside the Group Policy Editor > Computer Configuration > Windows Settings > Securit Settings > Local Policies > User Rights Management, but I couldn't manage to find a solution. Can we handle this problem inside W2000 or do we need a 3rd-party application? Thanks....
