  1. Yes it is a work situation. I could make another public folder but this would be labour intensive as there are hundreds of contacts and there is no on screen field to use for selection when selecting names from a list: I would have to print out the list of contacts and mark ones for selection then go through the entire list. I am wondering about transfering the contact information to a database and running a query to generate a list if I can then export that to an outlook public folder?
  2. Is it possible to mark or flag some of the contacts in a public contacts folder so that I can just use the marked ones to which to send an emailshot? I want to store this information so that I can email again.
  3. Thanks Jadaz, it turned out to be the start documents list. When cleared, it fixed the problem
  4. Wouldn't that happen before the windows log on?
  5. I checked out the control panel and the search for floopy was checked, so I unchecked it and .... it still does it. It does it after the windows logon.
  6. checked the MSCONFIG and only 2 run at startup which I want. Checked all the other tabs and coud not find any reference to a: decided to find all ~*.* files on c: to delete them and when fins starts it still tries to access a: then c: ?
  7. It has booted from the hard drive and put up the desktop and then it thrashes the floppy.
  8. I am running Windows98 on a desktop which is networked. During bootup it thrashes the floppy drive for about 20 seconds which is annoying. There is no disc in the floppy drive. It has booted from the hard drive and put up the desktop then after the windows logon it thrashes the floppy. Does anyone know how to stop this?
