The command to show/hide menu is "Enable menu bar" and "Disable menu bar", you can assign it to any button or shortcuts. To put tab bar under address bar, you can simply right click on main toolbar, choose "customize", and drag an address button to main toolbar.

Many thanks! Works like a charm.

Hi I'm using MPlayer 1.0pre8 with my total commander. It always pops up a console window when playing media files. Is there any parameter (switch?) could disable this? Thanks in advance.

2antzpompeii You're totally welcome. I hope some experts would help you out. PS: Don't forget share your experience here if you made it.

I wish I have a daughter to take care of, hehe Yes, I confirmed. Then XP will be installed on 2nd partition, but in XP it's still called C: Maybe you have to use the way in that M$ article. Sorry I cannot help~
-
No, no, have you tried my first suggestion - "set D: to active and install WinXP"? PS: Don't do the long quote again
-
Yes, yes, you're right . Sorry about that. You can put more than one extended partition. That's DOS/WIN98's limitation. However, don't run win98 then, since it might cause some trouble. Just found this, maybe you want try it... On your own risk http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?...b;EN-US;Q223188 http://support.microsoft.com/kb/249321/ Something I would say... If you just want to protect boot.ini other than some private data, then I think it's not necessary to do that. I cannot imagine a hacker could break into your system but cannot do anything because failure of reading boot.ini BTW, you probably already know that, drive letter is flexible. It's not like this [multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)] kind of defination and could be different from OS to OS. If I were you, I would do it like this: WinXP (General Use) [Primary] [Extended] - (Data) [Logical] - (Download) [Logical] - (Backup) [Logical] WinXP (Digital Processing) [Primary] [Extended] - (Video) [Logical] - (Photo) [Logical] or maybe this: WinXP (General Use) [Primary] WinXP (Digital Processing) [Primary] [Extended] - (Data) [Logical] - (Download) [Logical] - (Video) [Logical] - (Photo) [Logical] Backup [Primary.Hide] PS: Actually I'm a bit confused what's your main question here Regards, Kevin

1. I think only one extended partition is allowed. So, you cannot have two extended partition: Partition - 2 and Partition - 4. Why don't you just put them together? You can still delete the "DOWNLOADS" partition anytime you want. I mean like this: Partition - 1 [Primary] Partition - 3 [Primary] Partition - 2 [Extended] - DATA [Logical] - DOWNLOADS [Logical] - VIDEO EDITING [Logical] - PHOTOS [Logical] 2. Encrypt files in C:? NTFS could do that. But I never used that feature (I never need to) 3. I don't quite follow you on the drive letter issue. You want boot.ini in D:? I think set D: to active and install WinXP will do NOTICE: I'm not an expert I hope what I said is right... Plz feel free to ask~

Glad to help Thumbs up for TC

Well, if you don't know how to help and you don't know the answer please refrain from posting..thx First, I want to appologize. It's my mistake that I forgot "F2" is set to "cm_renameonly" in my TC to be consist with windows shortcuts. So, for you, try Shift+F6 please. Also see attachment. Second, according to your picture, you might also need to check "Show parent dir also in root of drive" (located in Configuration dialog > Display), which has the same effect with adding ShowParentDirInRoot=0 to [configuration] section of wincmd.ini Third, I just thought you might also interested in "InplaceRenamePath" in wincmd.ini, see here for details. And at last, don't be so harsh, after all, I'm trying to help. If there is any fault, please point it out.

1. move your cursor in the filelist to the top item (i.e, the two dots) 2. press f2 And there you go, !

I suppose just search the dll filename with google, you'll get what you want...

Yes, I'm sure it needs extraction ultimately But it would be great it some software could unzip dynamically, and mount it as a drive or folder. So that all other programs could access inside it. PS: foobar2000 did a great job reading directly from archives

Excuse me, how to use VLC play real format video/audio? I love VLC too, but can't use it play *.rm really bothers me. I've searched about this topic, but it seems VLC doesn't support realmedia yet and they never planed to support it either. PS: If VLC doesn't work, I use mplayer. If mplayer doesn't work, I fallback to mplayerc + k-lite mega codec pack.
-
Hi Is there any software could mount an archive file to a drive, so that other programs could access files inside it without extraction?
-
I had the same problem here as well. According to my test, I'm sure only put $OEM$ inside will work (I tried, several times). After reading the article above, I think the problem rises because the different installation method. Since I'm using unattended setup, not RIS installation. See the "Unattended Setup" section in the article cited above. PS: http://unattended.msfn.org/global/oemfolders.htm might need a bit correction too, I suppose.

nLite // simply best total commander // complete explorer alternative Opera // not perfect, but firefox memory leaking really drive me crazy foobar2000 // no better in windows mplayer // I also like mplayer classic SmartFTP // the only ftp client have good unicode support yet flashget // pretty good. but it has been staying still for a long time ghost // saves lots of my time ultraedit // although I still think it's interface is ugly daemon tools // foolproof & flawless

Seems there's hardly anyone understand what LiquidSage is talk about. Try this. I haven't used it personally. DVDinfo shows it supports "write" CD-R/RW. http://www.ztekware.com/

Did you add any hardware after you made the backup image? 10 minutes boot up is really rare, i suppose
