Can anyone tell about this Hotfix? Is it important, a"must have"? Or only required having problems with audiofiles?

@tommyp. THX for the short answer. It helped. Made a first test install with german Xpsp2 and the new feature Progfiles. Works great. Very good work guys!!! Made a final install with new features. My son is happy, WU is happy, i am happy.

Woooooow ....... alot of changes and new features. So, i´ll have to spend some time in the next future to see and to learn. One Question i have before i start. Theres the need for me to copy one file during syssetup or during first logon in to %windir%. Please, how is the best way to do that??? Could hfslip help??? Thx for your answer.

Are you right with your numbers?? MS06-033 is a patch for an ASP.NET issue (kb917283). 883939 is an old IE6- Patch!!! Which do you tryin to hfslip??? Please have a look here:http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showtopic=62177.

@Super-magican. Thx On other way i have a lot of probs using the reducer on XP. Looks like there are differencies between your english version and my german. e.g. in Tour.rem are file entrys i don´t have and vice versa. So i can report: I´m trying and searching. So long. See ya

I´ve tried to download the Cleanup.zip for 2000/XP from here http://www.vorck.com/hfexpert.html. The link shows only the cleanup for 2003. Could this used for 2000/XP???

I´m angry about that sh... Mdac. The ways tomcat showed didn´t work for me, don´t know why not. Also the newest testrelease failed. The installation works at T13, but it´s incomplett. I think the installer haven´t enough time to copy all the stuff. the only way to get a successfull installation for me is the OEM folder and GUIRunOnce in WINNT.sif. That works. OK, guys, thx for your work. I have also a other life, not only my machines.

I´m sad about that what i have to do, but I must report that the newest testrelease has a syntax error in Mdac_type line. A fresh builded Install CD: at the point Registering the Components comes the infoscreen that there is a syntax error in mdac setup. After finishing the installation i found mdac not installed. So i´ve had a look to the line in hf_60422d and found a "1" after the switch "QN" at the end of the line. I removed it and at time i build a new install source. Edit: It wasn´t the "1" alone. I´ve found a MS-Article explaining the Syntax for Mdac and Dasetup. I´l try this.

Hi In an earlier post i wrote that i normally don´t use nlite. i´ve asked a friend who do his installations with it. He reports to me that all is ok. i don´t know what nlite do with this file.

Have had the third look to mdac.cab. Using hfslip_60421d, w2ksp4ger, ie6sp1,dx9 and hotfixe from Tomcat´s list without mdac hotfix 253. mdac.cab in hfaao. Wu shows nothing. manually installing mdac hotfix 28sp1 failed with "Version not detectable. installation damaged or files broken". Also build a installation cd with mdac_typ.exe in hf. Wu tried to install mdc hotfix 253. Manually install of mdac hotfix 281 failed with "Version not detected. installation damaged". have a nice weekend.

I´ve had time and i did it again, now using HFAAO folder. It´s a pity, but it doesn´t work. Hfslip worked fine, setup goes through, Login ok. Trying to install the mdac hotfix for 2.8sp1 manually. Setup quits with the message "that the version is not detectable. Installation is damaged or files are broken". Out off topic: Mdac_Typ.exe goes to HFSVCPack_Sw Folder? Right??

@ sereby Normaly i don´t use nlite, there it works fine. Using hfslip was an experiment.

I´ve made a new CD with W2ksp4/IE6sp1/Dx9 and the hfsliped mdac.cab posted by sereby without the mdac hotfix for mdac253. It does not work. WU tried to install the missing Hotfix for mdac 253 and the experiment to install the Hotfix for Mdac 28sp1 failed.

Hi Is there a way to proof the installation of the files from this .cab? I have made a new install, but i´m not sure if all is correct now.
