Hi tc, using the current Testrelease i´ve made two installs, one with xpsp2 german and the other w2ksp4 german. Following your instructions about the new feature hf\basic and hf\noreg i build the cds. In both hf-folder i included the new rootsupdate reported by tomalak. Xpsp2 installation went fine and WU shows nothing. W2kSP4 installation also ok, but WU offers the rootsupdate. What do you need for error searching?

Yesterday i updated my XPSP2. The File numbered kb930916 is installed by WU. The Descrition is here:http://support.microsoft.com/kb/930916/en-us Now i´m on the way to make a updated Installation-CD. Is Hfslip able to handle this file? THX for Answer.

Hi 61017b is not the answer for my problems. Theres something in the script mixing up my hotfixes all downloaded yesterday. For Example (W2kSP4 German): processing kb901017" A folder named Temp already exists. System can not find the specified file" or kb 901017 "Theres a folder named Temp. Subfolder is not empty. File can not found" or kb 909520 " The Specified File cannot accessed". With XPSP2 Same messages. Using my modified hfslip, i build yesterday, no problems. So, what is the differens between these Versions??? I only changed the directx 9 Part. The first differens is the size of the scripts, my modified has 149,089 Bytes and 61017b has 149,442 Bytes!

Hi I use only hofixes from yours or the guys list. To find the mistake i have now taken hfslip61015b (i had on hdd) inserted the directX Part from 61017a and........it works for both os. Only KB923191 (W2KSP4) shows a message "File or Folder called Temp already exists", but comctl.dll is copied. Installation on a vm..ok. Tomorrow i´ll test the installation on a real machine. Atfter that i will look for the differens between the two versions.

Hi Theres a problem with current experimental release and XPSP2 and W2kSP4 german. Trying to make a new and updated CD with XPSP2 failed. Sometimes hfslip isn´t able to process Hotfixes (Messages like "temp folder is not empty. The specified file could not accessed" or " file not found"). Finished sourcess burned on CD brake during copymode with "file not found or could not copied. Setup failed". Trying W2ksp4 shows the same problems. Strange thing. the former Releases worked better. Redownloaded all Hotfixes and files, copied new source, nothing helped. I think its the better way to build first a stable Version of hfslip for the MS-Stuff including the new one and the thirdparty stuff is a parallel development.

@TC Done. All Boxes away. Successfully run all DirectDraw-, direct3D-, directsound- and directmusic-tests. No problems.

I´m able to report a successfull final installation with w2ksp4 german, ie6sp1, dx 9 oct06 without xinput and xact files, all fixes and files from tomcats list and some goodies in hfexpert. Installation without problems. WU shows only unneeded stuff. CD build with Hfslip 61014c. Good work, guys. THX

Hi Bugs I did not check for missing hotfixes. I find your post after i have completed my. So i go on now and see what is wrong or missed.

Hi I´ve found a code error for Win2000-KB917008 in current experimental Release. On German W2kSP4 there´s a Installation interrupt with the message for missing Setup-switches. I´ve copied the Code line from latetest stable Release into experimantal release and the installation finished without interrupt.
