  1. I tried to use repair (don't know what that does) - nothing. I don't understand even where to look for the problem. What may be wrong? Drivers of the NIC? Incorrect settings? Permissions?
  2. yes, I've set them manually
  3. Good day to all! I have (I guess) a very simple goal to connect my two comps using the network cards. This is my configuration: Comp1 - WinXP 64 bit + NIC for modem & internet +NIC for connecting to the Comp2. Comp2 - WinXP 32 bit + NIC for connecting to the Comp1. I used the crossover cable to connect directly my NICs. For the Comp1 I used 192.168.10.1 and 255.255.255.0 (int the TCP/IP properties). For the Comp2 I used 192.168.10.2 and 255.255.255.0. I have the icon of LAN shows me I have connected to the LAN. But... I cannot ping from one comp to other! I disabled ICF and tried to use the Comp2 IP for Gateway of Comp1. Nothing! What's wrong? Thanks in advance!
