I spent quite a while searching for a topic addressing this problem but low and behold, I found nothing so here I am at your mercy. I'm using windows xp with sp2 and this error started yesterday. When I go to open the control panel from the start menu, It freezes for a moment and comes up with an error saying the following: Error signature: AppName: explorer.exe AppVer: 6.0.2900.2180 ModName: shell32.dll ModVer: 6.0.2900.2620 Offset: 0002ac20 The screen refreshes after the error report concludes. This only happens when I open the control panel and doesn't happen with my computer or anything else. I'm really stumped here and would appreciate any help I can get. If I can avoid doing a clean install of windows, I would like that very much. Thank you in advance...
