  1. If you don't need windows media player too, I recommened you to download Windows 7 N-version.

I don't need WMP neither.. But I don't have access to N or E version....

They are made for EU's markets. I don't know U.S laws, but over here it's legal to download (not share) software you own licence.
  2. Jeronimo, is it possible to remove Client-Driver and/or Common-Driver package(s) and still boot to desktop?

If "disable-feature:MediaPlayback" is set what's the result of that?

    N-spesific packages:

    Microsoft-Windows-Editions-ClientN-Package
    Microsoft-Windows-Xps-Foundation-NEdition-Package

these packages do not exist in N-version:

    Microsoft-Windows-GPUPipeline-Package
    Microsoft-Media-Foundation-Package

  3. Jeronimo, your preset still contains all WLAN, firewall and windows update related components. We know you personally use windows update (and WLAN), but if you call this extreme you could add which components must be kept even after package removal like:

    -MDAC

    -Network and Sharing Center ?

    -?

    -?

    -?

    thanks!

  4. I am looking for barebone/minimum vlite component list for windows 7 RC build.

Which components must be kept in order to succesfully install it without major problems?

On the beta topic, there was mentioned:

    -Internet Explorer

    -Help ??

    How about RC build?

  5. It's always possible he moved on to other things.
It would still be more than polite to give heads up if the development is halted for longer period or ended. There are a *lot* of people checking for new version every day.
  6. But when u start vlite it says [ select the version u want to edit ] , so it wont let me do the modification to all the versions. besides i want all the versions to be unattended. is there a way to do it
well I guess nuhi didnt think 'Save changes to all versions' option was necessary. You can do it anyway, just few more clicks:

start vlite -> select ultimate -> load preset -> apply -> select 'Save changes only'

restart vlite -> select home premium -> load preset -> apply -> select 'Save changes only'

restart vlite -> select business -> load preset -> apply -> select 'Save changes only'

    etc.

if you want *pop-up free* (unattended) installation, I dont know other way than this:

take copies of Autounattend.xml for each version and edit these lines for each xml-file:

    <Key>cd-key for that version here</Key>

<Value>version you want to install with that autoattended.xml</Value>

  7. You can have all version vlited just if you dont select "rebuild one" option.

If you are using unattended option, the fastest way to choose version (that will be automaticly installed) is to modify Autounattend.xml

just modify line: <Value>Windows Vista *******</Value> to <Value>Windows Vista ULTIMATE</Value> or <Value>Windows Vista BUSINESS</Value> etc.

  8. Well, I reinstalled and I can most surely confirm that removing 'Event Log' disables the ability to create dialup connections.
I got same error message when I tried create pppoe-connection. The background for this problem is most likely same I had. To able to create dialup/vpn/pppoe etc remote connections, services: Remote Access Connection Manager and Telephony must be started.

    explained here: http://www.msfn.org/board/vlited-sp1-cant-...on-t118934.html

Try the registry fix. I have Event Log removed and Secure Socket Tunneling service is disabled :thumbup

  9. My LAN pppoe is functional without Modem Support, Event Log (and Secure Socket Tunneling Protocol).

Remote Access Connection Manager (needed for pppoe) has depency on Secure Socket Tunneling Protocol and latter one has dependency on Event Log.

If you remove Event Log, eventually Remote Access Connection Manager service won't start.

So you have to manually remove depency between Remote Access Connection Manager and Secure Socket Tunneling Protocol.

Download the attachment file, double click it and reboot. Please report result :hello:

nuhi will fix this to next version anyway, when he completely removes Secure Socket Tunneling Protocol: http://www.msfn.org/board/vLite-v12-Beta-T...ded#entry771937

    rasman.reg

  10. new: 'Secure Socket Tunneling Protocol (SSTP)'

Is this component really included for this build? I can't find this component from the list.

After installation, sstpsvc.dll and related registry keys are still there.

  11. I had the exact same problem earlier with my first vlite installation media. I thought setpoint failed to funtion properly because I had removed "application experience" component, but your story makes me reconsider. My current setpoint build is 4.40.88.
