My UA DVD all works quite happily (well, mostly ) but there is one minor niggle I would really like to sort out. I rearrange the Start Menu->Programs stuff so that everything ends up in "All Users" and arranged in various broad topics, for example I place "mIRC" under an "Internet" folder. So far so good. However, most installations do not offer the option of changing where Start Menu shortcuts are made so I have a .BAT file that runs after WPI has finished and places everything where I want it. Again, this all works very well. The problem comes when I come to update an application later on. Take mIRC as the example above. It adds a shortcut to Start Menu->Programs, which I move to Start Menu->Programs->Internet. Now when a new mIRC is released and I manually install it, there is a new shortcut under Start Menu->Programs (with the original under ...->Internet still there for good measure!). I've poked around in the registry a little without any luck. I'm guessing that most programs (i.e. any that don't give you an explicit option to put Start Menu shortcuts somewhere other than Programs) just hard code the location of the shortcut. So I'm probably out of luck. But if anyone knows any different, I'd be jolly grateful !! Thx
