  1. Found the problem. Active Directory was screwed up. Deleted AD and re-installed. Works fine now. Somehow I messed up AD by trying to add a Mac to the domain. Got that worked out as well by using the checklist for Macintosh services. Thanks for the help.
  2. Would it be possible for the XP machines to work correctly if DNS/DHCP was not configured correctly?
  3. I have Windows Server 2003 running a small network. One of the PCs is running Windows XP Pro, it works fine. A Mac Book Pro is also working fine. Another PC is dual booting to XP Pro and Vista Business 64. The partition with XP Pro works fine. The Vista 64 partition does not. I get the following error message when I try to join it to the domain while running Vista 64: "An attempt to resolve the DNS name of a DC in the domain being joined has failed. Please verify this client is configured to reach a DNS server that can resolve DNS names in the target domain." I am not very experienced with Windows Server. Any suggestions?
  4. I finally figured out the problem. A bad memory module. Downloaded and ran "Memtest" from http://www.memtest.org and there were lots of errors. No problems now. I had never seen something like this before. On several of the reformat/reinstalls of Win XP Pro/Spk 2 I did get the install to work. Once installed though other software would report errors from the disk during install just like the Windows install would. Live and learn I guess.
  5. I also found this forum by searching for info on missing files during Win XP Pro install. I am using the Win XP Pro w/SPK2 OEM CD from the Microsoft Action Pack. The first problem I have when installing on a reformatted drive is the "missing tosdvd.sys" warning. Searching for the missing file in the .CAB files on the disk reveals no file of that name on the disk. I am not using nlight. It sounds like a great product but what I really need is a solution to the problem above. Thanks
