Integration of AMD / ATI SB7XX textmode RAID / AHCI drivers on an XP
Fernando 1 replied to MikeD's topic in nLite
@ johnhc: You are right. It would be a very good idea to remove these additional USB floppy support lines from within the TXTSETUP.OEM file. Regards Fernando -
Integration of AMD / ATI SB7XX textmode RAID / AHCI drivers on an XP
Fernando 1 replied to MikeD's topic in nLite
@ The Day Walker! Have you tested your RAM? If not, run the MemTest. Is your system overclocked? If yes, take the default BIOS settings for the integration. What about your PSU? Is it strong enough for your 4 hdd's? -
It is not a good idea to integrate 2 different drivers of the same manufacturer.Solution: Just integrate the modded driver. It will support all mainboards with an Intel Southbridge from ICH6 up, if the SATA Controller has been set to AHCI or RAID mode. Regards Fernando

Integration of NVIDIA's nForce RAID and AHCI drivers
Fernando 1 replied to Fernando 1's topic in nLite
Since I never have seen a degradation of both mirrored hdd's of a RAID1 array, I am not able to help you in this case. If you have been able to get an image of your RAID data, you may create the array again from scratch, but if not, I do not know what to do first. According to my knowledge you will not loose the data - contrary to the RAID0 - by breaking the RAID1 array. So you should be able to create a new RAID1 array anyway. Good luck! Fernando -
Integration of NVIDIA's nForce RAID and AHCI drivers
Fernando 1 replied to Fernando 1's topic in nLite
If you are not able to repair the RAID array from within the NVIDIA Control Panel, you have to do it from within the MediaShield Utility (RAID ROM Utility) by hitting the required keys while booting. I don't think, that the integrated nForce RAID driver v.11.1.0.33 caused the degradation of the RAID.Nevertheless you may give me the details regarding your nForce chipset and the OS you are running. -
That is no surprise, because you tried to run an Intel SATA AHCI system with NVIDIA nForce SataRAID drivers. All these 3 drivers you have mentioned are only suitable with nForce RAID systems! Your system neither does support RAID nor has NVIDIA SATA Controllers. Exactly, that is the truth.@ chowdary2005: This is what you should do: 1. Set the SATA Controllers to "AHCI" within the BIOS. 2. Create a bootable XP CD with integrated Intel AHCI driver according to >this< guide. 3. Install Windows XP. 4. Have fun! Regards Fernando

Integration of NVIDIA's nForce RAID and AHCI drivers
Fernando 1 replied to Fernando 1's topic in nLite
@ mkeptau: Welcome at MSFN Forums! Since I am not sure, what ASUS means with "Compatibilty" (=IDE?) and "Enhanced" (=AHCI?) SATA Mode, it is difficult to help you.Maybe you will get some useful informations by reading >this< thread. If not, here are some questions: 1. Which nForce IDE driver version and folder did you integrate, when you prepared the recently used nLited XP CD? 2. Which Controller names are listed within the "IDE ATA/ATAPI Controllers" section of your Device Manager while running XP? Regards Fernando -
As I have mentioned earlier, you haveto start the XP installation by booting off the CD. After having done that, you will come to the point, where the XP Setup should detect and show the hdd(s) and its/their partitions und you have to decide where you want to get the OS installaed. If the detection succeeds, you will not need to load/integrate any textmode driver, but if the detection fails, you will not be able to continue the installation. The failure of the correct hdd and partition detection verifies, that you have to load (F6) or integrate a special textmode driver. By the way: If you stop the XP installation at this point, nothing will be changed with your current system. 1. What you need for all your works with zipped files, is a tool like WinRAR, WinZip or 7-Zip. You can get them for free. Downnload and install any of them.2. If you want to download an archive file (with the extension .zip, .rar or .7z), you should always choose the "save" and never the "run" option. 3. After the download is completed, just do a right click onto the zipped archive and choose the "Extract to ...." option. Precondition; You have already installed a packing tool like WinRAR, WinZip or 7-Zip.

@ hmtjakob: It is not easy to understand, what you are trying to transmit. Does that mean, that you are getting the messing "Hit any key to start from CD/DVD", but then nothing happens? If yes, try to boot off the original XP CD. If the same thing should happen again, you will not be able to boot off your DVD-ROM device at all, if the related SATA Controller has been set to "AHCI" or "RAID" mode. Possible solution: If your mainboard BIOS offers the option to boot off an USB device, you should create a bootable USB stick with the nLited XP DVD content. If no, either you or your burning software did something wrong. Possible solution: Burn the nLited XP ISO file again as bootable image onto a DVD, but with lower speed. It is hard to understand what you mean. This is the easy procedure: Open my guide and double click onto the driver link of your choice. The related driver download page at MediaFire will be opened. Hit "Click here to start the download..." Confirm the download and choose the directory, where you are storing your downloads (example: C:\user\<user name>\Downloads). Unzip the RAR archive into a special driver folder, you previously have prepared (example: C:\Intel textmode driver). Start nLite, choose the driver integration task, navigate to the driver folder (example: C:\Intel textmode driver) with the unzipped driver files. Do a double click onto the iaAHCI.INF file. Enable all listed Intel SATA Controllers, which do additionally contain the word "AHCI". Let nLite do it's work. Burn the ISO file as bootable Image. There is no Intel Matrix Storage Manager in the original XP CD and XP doesn't need it.What XP needs is the suitable textmode driver, which is able to detect and to handle the SATA hdd, which is running in AHCI or RAID mode. The usable different Intel textmode drivers belong either to the "Intel Matrix Storage Manager" (old) or to the "Rapid Storage Technology" (new) series.

You should not run the SETUP.EXE of the XP CD from within any Windows OS, but boot off the XP CD. Then you will not get any message like this. This is what you have to do: 1. Enter the mainboard BIOS and set the CD/DVD-ROM drive as first boot device. Save the new BIOS setting. 2. Put the XP CD into your CD/DVD-ROM drive and start the PC. 3. When you see the message "Hit any key to boot off CD", do it (= hit any key). 4. Install Windows XP where you want.
-
@ hmtjakob: Yes, that is nearly unbelievable. Furthermore the INF file name is wrong. It should be IAAHCI.INF (without the digit 1 in brackets). Why didn't you just follow my guide? This is the easy procedure: Download the appropriate 32bit or 64bit textmode driver, which I have linked within my guide. Unzip the downloaded package into a separate folder (example: C:\driver). Run nLite and integrate the content of the driver folder as TEXTMODE driver. Point to any of the INF files. When you get the textmode driver popup, check all Controllers with the word "AHCI" in it (unless you are sure, which Controller you have, then you should check just this one). Let nLite burn the Image directly onto the CD/DVD. Install XP by booting off the CD/DVD. And the driver itself named IASTOR.SYS has to be as a compressed file named IASTOR.SY_ within the i386 directory (XP) resp. within the AMD64 directory (XP x64).

@ hmtjakob: Welcome at MSFN Forums! That was a good idea. Where have you copied the content of the XP CD and where have you stored the drivers you had prepared for the integration? You should never use the desktop or any other user folder for the storage of data, which will be handled by a tool like nLite. Regards Fernando

Integration of NVIDIA's nForce RAID and AHCI drivers
Fernando 1 replied to Fernando 1's topic in nLite
@ rexrohunter: Welcome at MSFN Forums! The topic of this thread is the integration of NVIDIA's nForce RAID and AHCI drivers into a Windows XP CD. So where is your problem? You will find other nForce SATA drivers within the first post of this thread, but they are only usable with Windows XP and Windows Server 2003.If you want to get Windows 7 installed onto your nForce 630a (MCP67) chipset Acer notebook, you should search for appropriate Win7 nForce drivers at Acer's or NVIDIA's download pages. Integration of NVIDIA's nForce RAID and AHCI drivers
Fernando 1 replied to Fernando 1's topic in nLite
@ cyr42000: Welcome at MSFN Forums! I assume, that your SATA hdd is connected with a NVIDIA nForce Serial ATA Controller, which has been set to "AHCI" Mode within the BIOS.If the SATA_IDE driver v10.3.0.46 has been integrated as TEXTMODE driver, but was not able to detect your SATA hdd, you should integrate the SATA_IDE driver v11.1.0.33, which can be downloaded from >here<. Please report here, if you succeeded this way. This may help other users with a similar hardware configuration. Good luck! Fernando -
Integration of NVIDIA's nForce RAID and AHCI drivers
Fernando 1 replied to Fernando 1's topic in nLite
Both SATARAID drivers I have recommended for "all other chipsets" within my guide should work for your system. So you can integrate either the SATARAID driver folder v10.3.0.46 or v9.99.09. Good luck! Fernando -
Integration of NVIDIA's nForce RAID and AHCI drivers
Fernando 1 replied to Fernando 1's topic in nLite
@ Jaxx: Welcome at MSFN Forums! Please give me the name of your mainboard or notebook. FX940 is a GPU chip, but not an nForce chipset. -
An Intel® ICH10M Southbridge doesn't exist. The Mobile Intel® PM55 Express chipset belongs to the Intel® 5-series chipset family (look >here<) and has nothing to do with the ICH chipset family. The new Intel® 5-series chipsets are fully supported by the actual Intel® Rapid Storage Technology drivers v9.5.0.1037 and v9.5.6.1001. Just integrate the driver of your choice and enable all listed 5-series SATA AHCI Controllers, when you get the textmode driver popup window. Good luck! Fernando

SATA Raid drivers for WinXP installation on PT8 Neo-V motherboard
Fernando 1 replied to osi's topic in nLite
@ osi: If your SATA hdd's are running in RAID mode, you should download the small VIA RAID driver package, which I have prepared for the XP CD integration. You can get it >here<. Just unzip and integrate it as textmode driver. Good luck! Fernando -
@ sflesch: Thanks for your feedback. I am happy, that you were able to solve your problem at least. Have fun! Fernando
-
@ sflesh: Please have a look into the root of your nLited XP CD with integrated SP3. There should be the following files: WIN51 WIN51IP WIN51IP.SP2 WIN51IP.SP3 Do you see them? If not, did you delete one of the files? Additional remark: It is never a good idea to put all these things you want to integrate onto the desktop. Disadvantages: a ) very long path (with too much letters) b ) nLite may grab not wanted folders and files, which are on the desktop too. EDIT: It is possible to create a RAID consisting of 1 single drive, but this doesn't make much sense. If you want the features NCQ and HotPlugging, you should run your SATA hdd in AHCI Mode, but I do not know, if your Southbridge will support AHCI.
