  1. Having read the very good guide here to building my own personal XP CD, I soon discovered that the SATA drive issue is still a little tricky! I have a Biostar 210M, which is not usually shipped with a floppy drive, so no "press F6" option to load SATA drivers! Using the advise from my betters such as Raken, Bilo_Gateux etc., I added the following codes, to be used with the VIA VT6421/VT6410/VT6420/VT8237 ComboRAID Driver. Add to TXTSETUP.SIF [sourceDisksFiles] viamraid.sys = 1,,,,,,4_,4,1,,,1,4 [HardwareIdsDatabase] PCI\VEN_1106&DEV_3249 = "viamraid" PCI\VEN_1106&DEV_3149 = "viamraid" PCI\VEN_1106&DEV_3164 = "viamraid" [sCSI.load] viamraid = viamraid.sys,4 [sCSI] viamraid = "VIA Serial ATA RAID Controller" Add to WINNT.SIF OemPreinstall=Yes OEMPnPDriversPath="drivers\006\sata" DriverSigningPolicy=Ignore Create the $OEM$\$1\driver\006\sata folder in the root of the installation disk and copy the 3 files, viamraid.sys, viaraid.cat & viaraid.inf from the latest extracted driver downloaded from Via TECH website. Finally I added the viamraid.sys file to \i386 directory, using the DOS Makecab function. Hope this is of some use to you all. Now I'm off to play some more and try and sort out the sound drivers and fan system drivers!
