Just ran through an unattended clean install
seethru replied to seethru's topic in Unattended Windows 2000/XP/2003
Worked fine, only thing that didn't was my photoshop install and thats cause stupid me had the wrong path. And my ATI CP and PowerDVDXP didn't work, when they did on my hard drive (confused as to why that happened). Luckily I put those programs on my dvd-rw that I can update every install. -

Everything went great, except for the three install shield setups I ran through on my second cd, off the cd.....didn't seem to install them. ATI CP 3.6, MSI LiveUpdate 3, and PowerDVDXP. :\ ECHO. ECHO Installing ATI Control Panel for Catalyst 3.6 ECHO Please wait... start /wait F:\install\Applications\ATI_CP_3_6\Setup.exe -s -f1"F:\install\Applications\ATI_CP_3_6\setup.iss" ECHO. ECHO Installing MSI LiveUpdate 3.51 for MSI KT4V ECHO Please wait... start /wait F:\install\Applications\MSI_LiveUpdate\Setup.exe -s -f1"F:\install\Applications\MSI_LiveUpdate\setup.iss" ECHO. autodetecting cdrom drive letter
seethru replied to ashfaq_t's topic in Unattended Windows 2000/XP/2003
wish I knew, I'll do some looking around and see if I can find anything, but your best bet may be to just guess and hope that you're right. -
What I'm trying to do is make this cd compatible with all my computers, and then make a second -rw cd for the extra applications that are computer-dependant (such as ATI CP) this cd is for multiple configurations, hence including two different video driver options. I'm considering including as many different driver options as I can for when I make new systems for people, makes things a lot easier.

Soundblaster Live! and other drivers
seethru replied to Budster's topic in Unattended Windows 2000/XP/2003
so I shouldn't use my via mainboard as drivers but install them via install shield? -
hmmm, I can't think of anything that could bypass the anti virus notice
-
still pops things up?
-
I'm sure theres a way to get the opengl drivers to load though, without having to use the actual setup. I'll see if I can figure it out.
-
nice idea, I'm assuming you're removing the directories the install leaves behind (all the setup files)
-
ahh, thanks for letting me know that
-
how are you running the new batch file? same window?
-
if you have winrar just extract it using that and place it in your drivers folder
-
thanks
-
sorry, just making sure before I go ahead with this and burn it. If I have Drivers\Video in the sif and in video I have the folders Catalyst3_6\2KXP_INF and NVIDIA44_03 in it, and in those folders are the drivers it will work?
-
now I'm confused cause one of you said one thing and the other said the exact opposite heh. What I'm trying to do is make this cd compatible with all my computers, and then make a second -rw cd for the extra applications that are computer-dependant (such as ATI CP)
-
if I just put lets say Drivers\Video in the folder would it find the appropriate video driver out of a bunch of them, using sub folders too?
