  1. So where is this new site? Anyone found a mirror?
  2. Hey guys, Not been on in a while but the link to bashrats homepage is dead? Anyone any idea if its moved?
  3. Hi, At the moment my unattended works fine, I run a WPI wizzard but after first boot it asks me to log in by clicking the username at the welcome screen before WPI will run. Does anyone know what tweak gets rid of having to click your name, there's only me on the userlist and i don't use a password. It kinda ruins the unattended install. Cheers imm102
  4. hi, Im in the VM testing stage of my unattended and I was wondering, when I get to WPI my VM displays the menu slightly left, with half the menu items off the screen. This also is the case when I run WPI.hta in in order to configure it. Can someone tell me if this will fix itself when run normally or is there some setting to make WPI fullscreen and centred. Thanks imm102
  5. Hi, Ive just got my first unattended XPCD working with WPI but im hitting a strange problem. When the WPI loads I select all items and proceed to install. However only select items appear on the install list. Even programs such as Azureus get installed despite being dependent on the JRE which doesn't. I have 3 office programs (Main set, Visio and frontpage) and out of these only frontpage gets installed. I didn't receive any errors they just didn't appear on the installing list. Are errors getting masked or is there some other problem im missing. imm102
  6. Thanks a lot glent. I now understand. Just a question regarding Alcohol, I have a corporate edition and during setup no product key is required as it is stored in a setup.ini file which is in alcohol's install directory. Do i still need to provide the registry entries or will they get added from the setup.ini.
  7. I know a little about using regedit and the purpose of the registry but can someone post what registry entries are stored in the register file. Simply saying google registry isn't much help. The msfn tutorials don't go into much detail about these aspects.
  8. hi, Ive searched this forum and I can't figure out what register.reg entries for certain app installs are for. For example the msfn unattended example for alcohol is: REG ADD %KEY%\015 /VE /D "Alcohol 120" /f REG ADD %KEY%\015 /V 1 /D "%systemdrive%\apps\alcohol\setup.exe /qn" /f REG ADD %KEY%\015 /V 2 /D "REGEDIT /S %systemdrive%\apps\alcohol\register.reg" /f I understand that this runs the setup application but what does the register.reg file do. Is it something I need to add because my Alcohol install doesn't have one. If someone could help me that would be great. imm102
  9. Right, sorry I may not have been clear. Burning the ISO is not the problem as ive tested it on a virtual machine and I get the same errors. With regard to what I have done. I orginally applied hotfixes then added bashrats driverpacks assuming the hotfixes had worked. I then found out that it wasn't the driverpacks but the hotfixes that were causing the missing files. At the moment I have a pre-integrated XP SP2 disk and ive applied RyanVms hotfix pack to it. Hope that clears things up. Im going to attempt to use another XP Sp2 source to see if its this particular XP SP2 disk that im using that's the problem.
  10. Hi, Ive been trying to get a unattended fully updated version of windows to work but im falling at the first hurdle. The disk im using already has sp2 integrated. I copy over the files and integrate the RyanVM hotfix packs. Ive tried both nlite and manual methods and with both I receive missing file errors, lots of them. The disk works fine without. I also tried reinstalling the service pack using nlite and this made no difference. I have a copy of XP with nothin integrated. Should I use a clean image, integrate SP1 and then SP2 or will that not work? Thanks for any help. imm102 P.S some of the files missing are listed below -- kodak_dc.icm --srgb.icm --streamci --tosdvd -- tsbvcap --tsbyuv I originally thought this was caused by the driverpacks but after starting on a fresh copy and just adding hotfixes, I realised this was the problem.
  11. ok thanks for your help, I tried method 2 with the modification u gave and now setup starts fine, but then as its copying setup files it fails to copy loads of files so something still appears to be wrong. Ive listed a few of the files its missing -- kodak_dc.icm --srgb.icm --streamci --tosdvd -- tsbvcap --tsbyuv I included my winnt.sif file again WINNT.SIF
  12. i applied the fix, did everything fresh and it actually made things worse, although I now do get entries in the winnt.sif, when I run it under virtualPC i get Line 6 of the INF File \I386\winnt.sif is invalid setup cannot continue My winnt.sif file is attached. WINNT.SIF
  13. thanks for replying! no i didn't but im usng the latest base and driverpacks off the site. where do i get this FIX?
  14. Hi, Im a total newb but can someone tell me, after i complete all the instructions to install the driverpacks and i run RUN_ME.cmd from the XPCD source folder should I386/winnt.sif contain the driver references. I didn't received any errors and the file just contains. ;Generated by Bashrat the Sneaky's DriverPacks BASE Is there a step im missing out? I followed the instructions exactly. imm102
  15. continued setup to see if anything else was missing and yes there is. Next error I get is kodak_dc.icm cannot be copied. One thing im a little confused with Bashrats install method 1 is that the winnt.sif ends up blank except for a line saying it was generated by bashrat. Shouldn't this have items linking to the drivers or does the driver pack install script do that some other way.
