  1. Perhaps more appealing is TCPView, a Sysinternals freeware program. download
  2. The worst single piece of spyware I've ever seen can be found at 3721.com. It installs itself as a low-level system driver (CnsMinKp.sys) so that it will even load in safe mode to replace itself. The only way to get rid of it (that I've found) is to boot into another OS (Knoppix, XPE) and remove the files manually. You can't even Killbox/dummy-file it. VX2/ABetterInternet (listed on one of the above replies) does a lot of damage also, and can be incredibly hard to remove. If you're just looking for a large list of sites, try downloading SpyBot Search & Destroy and run their immunization on your system. That will place a lot of entries into your hosts file (C:\Windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts) blocking your computer from reaching the listed sites. You could use that list as a reference.
  3. Hey all, I got my UA DVD working very well, and all the great info on this board definitely helps out. Just a few small things being pesky now. There's a pretty long delay (5-7 minutes) before DetachedProgram runs at T-39 after Windows reboots into GUI-mode setup. I'm not really sure what it's doing or why it's taking so long...it just sits there with a light blue screen and a mouse pointer, and eventually the GUI Setup will load and proceed normally. I made the installer unattended using nLite and integrated BTS driverpacks. Otherwise, the rest of the stuff is done through runonceex, so I don't see how that would affect anything. Any ideas/suggestions on what may be causing this?
  4. There's an InstallShield Tuner available that lets you configure most of the "stuff" with Acrobat Pro 7. It also lets you specify the parameters to the MSI. http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=2709
