  1. Hi Neo, It worked well, thank you! Jose
  2. Hi Neo, Thanks for your reply. I will try and let you know. Jose
  3. Hi everyone, I've been reading that registry commands are about the same for Vista and XP? However, I've been trying to add some commands to Vista registry by double clicking on a .reg file, and Vista refuses to accept it saying that such files can only be imported from inside regedit. When I try to import from inside it also refuses to add the changes. The .reg file has tweaks I used for Win XP, mainly the ones that add MSConfig, Regedit, Add/Remove Programs, Device Manager, and Control Panel to MyComputer right-click menu. Thanks in advance for whatever help you can give me. Regards to all, Jose Ramos
  4. Hi everybody, sorry for the long post. I'm trying to do an unattended install DVD, but have not succeded fully to this moment. If you could help me sort it out, it would be greatly appreciated. Here's what I do: 1.Integrate SP2 (downloaded from Microsoft site) into Win XP Pro gold (Dell OEM) using nlite. 2.Integrate RyanVM, update pack latest version using his own integrator. 3. Remove components a few applications, drivers (video, audio, etc.), languages (all except portuguese brazil), no services removed, directories (docs, support). 4. Unattended setup, the same as BTS driver packs. 5. patches: compatibility is kept with all items ticked. 6. tweaks: don't change anything in general 1 and 2. Disable SFC and enable Unsigned Theme Support. Some tweaks are changed. 7. Apply all changes. 8. Apply BTS's driver packs 9. Back to nLite to make bootable ISO. 10. Burn ISO, disc-at-once, Nero. Try to install it, clean HDs. Text phase goes apparently well, Gui phase too. Computer reboots to start Windows, and there the problem begins: I get a black screen displaying a long message saying MS is sorry but can't continue, bla, bla, bla, and giving me the opportunity to start in safe mode, etc. After 30 seconds computer reboots, and again and again ... BTW, the installation works OK without Ryan's and BTS's, Windows starts up, but many of the options and tweaks I changed with nLite are not applied. I tryied a few different methods of installing the drivers but it never works. The drivers are never installed. What would I be doing wrong? Thanks in advance for any help.
  5. I have made an unattended WINXP CD. When I install it goes past the Windows gui fase (the 39 minute one). After that Windows stops installing and issues a black screen with messages stating that it can't go forward because of a power failure (which did not happen) or to protect the drivers, etc. At this point it offers the possibility of a safe boot, last good config, etc. Whatever I choose, the computer restarts and goes back to that black screen again. Would you be able to help me with this issue?
  6. I have two hard drives: one is a 74GB Raptor I use for the OS, the other is a 160GB Seagate I use for data. I want to re-install WinXP unattended forcing the installation to assign letter C: to the Raptor, without erasing the data already on the Seagate drive which I want to be drive D:. What is happening when I do an unattended installation is that Windows setup assigns letter C: to the Seagate drive, which has the data, and E: to the Raptor drive which has the OS, besides assigning letter D: to the CDROM. Then, when WinXP is already installed, I go into the Drive Management tool to change the OS drive letter from E: to C:, but the system will not allow me to because E: is the OS drive. How can I force my unattended installation to assign letter C: to the OS drive (Raptor) from the beginning of the installation, on the formatting/partitioning phase? Or, is there a way to reassign the drive letter C: to the OS HD after Win XP is installed? Regards to all, and thanks in advance for info you guys can provide on this.
