Is there anything stopping you from simply storing all your important documents etc. on an external hdd or sending them to yourself on hotmail and simply performing a fresh install of vista? The only reason I ask is because I'm in a similiar postition and that is what I plan on doing.

I'm using Power DVD 6 for DVD's. Is there any way of getting it to work on things like Winamp though it'd be kinda cool to be able to watch avi's and listen to music with it coming out of all of them? Cheers

Right then, I need peoples help here. A while ago I got myself a new sound card so I wandered off into town and came back with a Creative Sound Blaster Audigy. Brilliant I thought, nicer sounding audio than on board and when I get some money together I can get 7.1 surround sound and all will be well. Well I've got some surround sound speakers now (Creative T7900) and very nice they are, well the 3 I can get working are anyway. I've installed all of the stuff that came with the sound card and when I go to test the speakers I get a signal coming out off all of them but when listening to music, watching films etc. I'm only getting 2.1. This leads me to my question. How do I fix it??? Any help is muchly appreciated. Cheers Dave.

Hey, My dad wants to set up a network at home and he's found these HomePlug things were they use the home electrical wiring to transmit data. I though there may be a problem with interference but I've not found anything on the internet. Has anyone had any experience with these things with good/bad results. Cheers

Ah right is there any way of getting it to play files consecutively without the video screen going small again because my keyboard's range won't reach to the other side of my room.

Right then, I'm looking for some software, preferably free, well needs to be free, that I can play regular video files on etc. wmv, avi etc. All I want it to do is to be able to queue them up and have them play one after the other without going small screen again. If anyone has any suggestions they would be <i>hugely</i> appreciated. Cheers Dave

Hi, I've had a problem over the last couple of days with my PC kind of hanging every so often. Today it has been coming up with messages about a dodgy sound driver so I figured it was a good excuse to get a new sound card (I've been wanting a new one for a while anyway). This did fix the problem I was just basically curious as to why a sound card driver problem would be causing these kind of problems. If anyone has any ideas it'd be great coz it got me thinking and I can't figure it out. Cheers Dave

The card I have atm is a Nvidia GS6800 512mb ddr3. This is why I don't really want to swap it out because it is a fantastic card and really cant justify getting one of similar quality put with pci-e. Does anyone else have any other recommendations. I was going to get an Abit AV8 because all of the Abit boards that I have used since now have been fantastic but I'm considering taking this board back because it is just lacking a bit.

Hi there, I recently got a ECS KV2 Extreme and an AMD 4600 X2. The main reason I got this mainboard was because I didn't want to upgrade my graphics card because atm its more than good enough for what I need. I am however having a couple of probems with the dual core part of the processor as it won't pick up the second core. I realise it's a fairly old mainboard and was wondering if it was simply a case of updating the bios so that it'll work dual core. If it is then does anyone know where I'd be able to get some, I've had a look on ECS's site to no avail HELP!!

Hello all, Hope you can help with this. I want to try and get rid of an AEAT button that comes up in Word. Its just past the Help bit on the File, Edit, View etc. bar. There is a .ini file called aeatwiz.ini and I'm suspecting that has something to do with this although when I have deleted it it hasn't done anything to Word and then reappears afterwards I have also been told that there is a .dot file that may have something to do with it but I can't find that anywhere on the network and also thought that .dot's were just for templates.
