  1. Anyone out there using a netcam or capture card w/camcorder for video conferencing and msn messenger? I've tried an old 3com digital netcam and an ATI TV Wonder PCI card with a camcorder. No luck. I can get netmeeting to work with the 3com but not for long. Would like to find a good video capture card to hook my camcorder too as picture quality is much improved. The ATI card isnt recognized in device manager and this is a known problem with the card and XP according to ATI. In MSN Messenger there is a "start camera" button but cant get that to work at all. Any suggestions on a fix or hardware that works? Thanks..............
  2. Thanks to LouCypher and a stubborn window, I may be able to use this card anyway. Getting the updated driver now............. Thanks all............
  3. Finally! I have the same card and hopefully this will fix the speaker problems. Thanks for the update! I was just about to trash that card....................
  4. Well I guess I spoke a little to soon. It's working but everytime I reboot I have to go into AudioHQ and reset for 4 speakers or all I get is 2 speakers. It wont save the speaker configuration for some reason. Tried speaker reset setup thats included but that doesnt help. Oh well, at least I can get it to work.
  5. Experties... That Liveware 3.0 link did the trick. All 4 speakers now work. Even the subwoofer! Really want to thank you. This forum has been a real lifesaver. Thanks again all.
  6. Experties... Yeah, I tried both and no difference as far as getting all 4 speakers to work. I'll try the drivers from Creatives web site for the 5.1 Thanks again.
  7. BAH...Tried your suggestion but still no sound from 2 of the 4 speakers. Don't know if this has anything to do with not having liveware installed or not(I dont see why it would be the problem). Experties...I will try the link you supplied although I think it will be the same result as the drivers on Soundblaster's website for XP drivers. Apparently there is a difference between the soundblaster 5.1 card and mine (CT 4670). Thank you both. I'll let you know if the Liveware for XP that Experties linked to help or not.
  8. I have a soundblaster live platinum soundcard (CT 4670) and did a fresh install of XP Pro. The liveware software will not fully install (cant load plugins). I uninstalled the liveware and went with the drivers off the windows update site. I have a set of Cambridge Soundworks FPS 2000 speakers and the sound works but only from 2 of the 4 speakers. The subwoofer does not work either. I had previously installed XP Pro as an upgrade and used the Liveware with Win2000 drivers and all was good. I have checked everything out as far as connections to the speakers etc.... I tried changing speaker setup in control panel and no luck. Anyone have an idea? I have requested an email notification with Creative as soon as the drivers are available for the CT4670 soundcards. Right now it looks like they should be available at the end of the month.
  9. Anyone try this app from Intel? I installed it but don't really seem to notice an improvement. Of course you gotta have the correct Intel chipset on your MB. Here's where I found this: h**p://appsr.cps.intel.com/scripts- df/Product_Filter.asp?ProductID=663
  10. Well, I must have had a brain cramp. I found 'em. Thanks anyway.
  11. Yes, the themes that come with XP. It seems as if XP Plus! replaced them or they are in a folder that I cannot find.
  12. I am running devils own on a P3 933 and not had any real problems until I installed XP Plus! The problem is that most of the themes I had vanished after installing Plus!. Anyone know if I can retrieve them from the XP Pro cd or if I am just looking in the wrong folder? Thanks..........
