  1. Sorry about the code tags thing, didn't realize that was an option, but will be using them from now on now that I do. As far as where did I download the updates, I've already mentioned that in my previous post. "I got them by going to the Windows Update Catalog and then selecting Windows XP Professional SP2 -> Recommended updates." After going to "Recommended updates" there are 5 recommended updates, 3 of which are the ones I opted to install, i.e. WMP10, SharePointServices and .NET1.1. Thanks for the advice about searching, I did that before posting and didn't find anything. Do I have the MP10Setup.exe (wmp10 setup) file in the appropriate place in the svcpack.inf file? The instrcutions didn't really specify...Are you aware of a switch that should be used to ensure the install of WMP10 is silent? Is there an option to install wmp10 using the /INTEGRATE method? Thanks for the help
  2. I'm creating an unattended install with Windows XP OEM SPK2. SPK2 comes preinstalled no slipstream required. I wanted to include the latest updates and add-ons from MS, so I downloaded Windows Media Player 10, .NET 1.1 and the Share Point Services updated. These updates didn't have KBs so I can't provide a number, but I got them by going to the Windows Update Catalog and then selecting Windows XP Professional SP2 -> Recommended updates. I opted for the svcpack.inf install type for the extras. Since these weren't really hotfixes I used the "icon advice" on the page to identify which switches to use, i.e. Type 2. Everything else in my install went fine, but when it came time to install the extra components, they were all interactive instead of silent/quiet. I'm thinking I should try the other /INTEGRATE method, but I didn't see any mention of including WMP10. Or, maybe there are other switches I should be using for the svcpack.inf file. Below is a copy/paste of the svcpack.inf file. ;Windows XP [Version] Signature="$Windows NT$" MajorVersion=5 MinorVersion=1 BuildNumber=2600 [SetupData] CatalogSubDir="\i386\SVCPACK" [ProductCatalogsToInstall] [SetupHotfixesToRun] MP10Setup.exe dotnetfx.exe /Q:A /R:N SMSETUP.EXE /Q:A /R:N qchain.exe Any suggestions? Thanks!
  3. Yes, it opens my desktop folder, which is the location I'm running cdimagegui.exe from, but there's no boot.img file. I've also searched my box for boot.dat and boot.img (hidden and system folders/files) thinking that maybe the utility was copying the required file to a temp location, but that's not the case from what I can tell. I did find that it creates a temp folder, but that folder is empty. I've also redownloaded the utility a few times thinking I might have a bad DL, but same thing every time.
  4. I'm a newbie with the unattended install. Attempting to use the Beginner guide, I get to the last step and would like to download the cdimagegui file, but the link redirects to the MSFN.org homepage. I found the file for download from here: http://www.tech-hints.com/unatt.html However, as the instructions mention, I should be prompt for a directory when running cdimagegui for the first time and I'm not. Therefore, when I get to the step where I need to specify the location of boot.img I can't point it to anywhere because I don't have this file. Unlike the instructions, the version of cdimagegui I downloaded just runs when double clicked. I also downloaded cdimage.exe from the same site above, but that's just the command line version. Could someone please post the boot.img file? Or am I missing something? Sorry if this topic has been covered before I searched the forum and google and couldn't find anything. Thanks in advance for any help!
