  1. Not sure if this is the right group to post my request, but I have a situation where we have multiple images to clone machines. Instead of creating customize XP CD, we've decided to create a master computer and image the machine to clone others. It would had been nice to have one image file for all the type of machines we have, but at last we ran into some problems. Specfically BSOD. So, we decided to create an image for the distinctive machines and then use that image to clone our systems. I was thinking it would be nice to have these images on one DVD and creat a sort of boot menu in selecting the image I want to load based on the machine type. We use GHOST to image First of all is it possible to create a boot menu? and if so, does anyone know of any literature where I can read up on it? Thanks.
  2. Thank you so much Erik! This makes more sense <<at least to me>>
  3. I'm having problems in comprehending the That's in the Presetup.cmd file.Currently I have my drivers in the directory. Also, have both the SetDevicePath file and WatchDriverSigningPolicy in this location. So either my path is incorrect or I have both the files in the wrong place. Thanks.
  4. No I didn't change the setup screen. I will take Mexicano's suggestion and read the info of ModifyPE. Thanks for the feedback.
  5. The message I get is "Setup cannot copy the file: winntbbu.dll Then it goes on and gives me several options: 1. to retry 2. If you're installing from a CD, make sure the CD in the CDROM drive 3. To skip the file, press ESC 4. To quit, press F3 I did a search in my I386 folder and do not find this file. Let me know if you need more info. Thanks.
  6. Are you referring to the Local Security Policy? If so, I'm interested to know as well.
  7. When I test my ISO image I receive this error that it can't find this DLL. In doing a search on the forum, I only found one instance to this error, but the solution is not clear. Also, the links provided in the thread no longer work. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
  8. Hello, I just go through inserting my CD to start my unattend installation. AFter a pause the windows setup (Blue Screen) came up indicating it was loading the drivers, then it stopped where you're asked to partition your drive. In looking at my winnt.sif file, I show these parameters that would be relevant: ;SetupMgrTag [Data] AutoPartition=1 MsDosInitiated="0" UnattendedInstall="Yes" [Unattended] UnattendMode=FullUnattended OemSkipEula=Yes OemPreinstall=No TargetPath=\WINDOWS FileSystem=* UnattendSwitch="Yes" WaitForReboot="No" DriverSigningPolicy="Ignore" So why am I giving the choice to select the partition? I know I must have done something wrong, so if you guys could lend a helping hand that would be cool. Thanks,
  9. I like to know what can I use to tweak the local security policy? I have to tweak the Audit Policy, User Right and Security Option. Any ideas? Thanks
  10. DigitalAZ thanks for the updated file. Thanks
  11. Thanks Erik. I used method 2 so I should be fine. No onward to adding my applications.
  12. Thanks! I checked for those files and they are present. However, I want to verify with you what I see in the BIN folder (OEM). 7za.exe SetDevicePath.exe WatchDriverSigningPolicy.exe BTW, there is no other folder besides the BIN folder. Once again thanks for the reply. It's nice to know your messages doesn't go unnoticed on this forum.
  13. I followed you instructions in installing the driver pack and it installed without any errors. In your installation instruction you indicated "WARNING: If you ever add files or make changes to the folders$OEM$\$1\DP or OEM and any of their respective subfolders, don't forget to back-up those files/changes! Whenever you slipstream my DriverPacks, while they already have been applied, those folders will be deleted and rebuilt with the new DriverPacks!" Well, when I look in my $Oem$\$1 folder, I don't see a DP folder. What have I done wrong? This is what I did: I installed the Driver Base and I unpacked all the driver packs, this is located in a different directory that is not associated with my Unattend directory. All of my drivers are in the Driver Packs\DP folder. I then executed the BTS_DPs_Slipstreamer.cmd and chose Method 2. After the UWXPCD_ROOT folder was created, I copied all the contents of that folder to the root of my Unattend which includes the I386 folder. I then ran the run_me.cmd. It ran through it's process without a hitch. So, if I followed your instructions correctly could you tell me how I can check to make sure all is well?
  14. Forget it, I found the compression file to use. I guess you guys must get "ignorant" questions like these. I guess I should have visited the knowledge base first before posting. Sorry......
  15. I've downloaded all the drivers pack, but I like to verify the compression format. Thanks, Gothika
