  1. Hi I finally got the drivers packs to slipstream with my multi boot DVD using method 1. I noticed it took about 3-4 hours to get past T-39. I assume its extracting all drivers and saving them to harddisk at this point. Whats the best way to make it faster at this point, hopefully some way of having all drivers available after installation. Secondly, once instalation was completed i noticed my audio driver never got installed... its a realtek audio device and i was able to manually install it using one of the drivers in the D folder. Anyone have any clues as to why this wasnt installed automatically? thanks
  2. Hello yea that is what i am thinking now.... i just edited out vmscsi.sys from txtsetup.sif and reburned the disc and now i get error cannot find viapdsk.sys. i think it has something to do with the i386 directory not being in the root of the dvd. Assuming the dvd drive letter is G: the path to I386 is as follows "G:\SETUP\XP\MCE5\I386" the reason for this is so that i can have multiple operating systems installed from same dvd and same application set to automatically install. but the dvd did work before the drivers were slip streamed so it has to be something with how the BTS DriverPacks modified the directory list in TXTSetup.sif. if anyone can explain how the directory structure in TXTSetup.sif is constructed that would be very helpful. Thanks
  3. Hi again. I justed downloaded the complete and most up to date package and re-slipstreamed it, according to the batch files everything completed successfully. VMSCSI.SY_ is in I386 folder and i tried it again and still get the same error stating it cannot find vmscsi.sys file.
  4. hi i installed the drivers pack a couple weeks ago and noticed a prolem then when i try to boot to cd it gives error "The file vmscsi.sys could not be found". At the time i didnt have enough time to troubleshoot it, but i looked into it this weekend. I have seen other post saying the file must be in the I386 folder and it is, i even tried uncompressing the vmscsi.sy_ file and placing it there but it still doesnt work. If i remember right the slimpstream went smoothly without errors. I even checked a DVD that was compiled before i slipstreamed the drivers pack and it works fine but doesnt have the file vmscsi.sys anywhere on the dvd. The file vmscsi.sy_ is located in the I386 directory and in "Setup\XP\MCE5\$OEM$\$1\D\M\VM" Folder. There are accually three files in the Setup\XP\MCE5\$OEM$\$1\D\M\VM folder all named vmscsi but with .cat, .sy_ and .inf extensions. any help is greatly appreciated.
  5. Hi I got a cheap PCI Wlan card and i dont think the drivers are available in the driver pack. It is model ZEW1601 made by Zonet. You can find the webpage for it with the following link.... http://www.zonetusa.com/DispProduct.asp?ProductID=161
  6. well ok, but now what if you installed a bunch of plug-ins with custom settings and come to find out all the settings including install diretories are hard coded into the wincmd.ini file and placed in %systemroot%. this is great if you know that windows will always and only be installed to one particular drive letter but what if i change the installed partition from C:, now installation wont be correct.
  7. hi i am using virtual pc to test my unattended setup amd i noticed that the RunOnceEx.cmd list is too long and a couple programs at the bottom of the list are off the screen. i am wondering if there is a way to make the list add a second column when there are too many file names to list for the given screen resolution.
