  1. Hi all, I couldn't find a topic that already covered this. So here goes. I'm working on a Unattended Installation. This installation has to support several kinds of desktop and laptops. For completeness sake: - Dell Optiplex GX270 - Dell Optiplex GX280 - Dell Lattitude D600 - Dell Lattitude D610 - Dell Lattitude X1 All the drivers are downloaded from the Dell support site and I'm sure I have the latest versions. I use the OemPnPDriversPath option in my WINNT.SIF to add the drivers to my installation. Everything works ok except when I tried to use the installation on the GX280. When setup comes to T34 (hardwware detection fase), the screen goes black and setup stops. After couple of hours researche I found out that the video driver caused the error. The GX280 uses a Intel 915G Express and the X1 a 915GM (a mobile version). Both devices have a different driver. I've downloaded the latest drivers from the Intel website but this didn't solve the problem. There's even a support remark on the Intel support site (http://www.intel.com/support/graphics/sb/CS-015829.htm). This didn't do it for me either. I've now taken out both of the drivers and install them as silent applications. It works but maybe someone can help me with a proper solution. Many thanks.
  2. I must say. I've now integrated nearly all my hotfixes, two wouldn't work, and it's working great. B) Even the pop-up with the hardware wizard is gone now. Many thanks guys.
  3. And another example of reacting to quick... For anyone who had the same problem. Use: WindowsXP-KB873333-x86-ENU.exe /integrate:C:\XPCD Where C:\XPCD should be the path to your source dir. I'll give it a go and post my outcome. (It'll probably take some time a I now want to integrate all my hotfixes )
  4. That did the job. I guess I should read better... Now, I have a hotfix and realize that this doesn't help at all. During the Unattended Installation (AI) Windows will search for the available drivers. It will find the appropriate driver but the hotfix isn't installed yet. I use Windows XP SP2 integrated and I install the hotfixes during app install fase. Hhhmm,.... Is there a way I can integrate the hotfix in the source?
  5. Thnx, but it's not there. I'm just getting a introduction screen of RapidShare. Can u try it again. Many thanks.
  6. @Bashrat Yep, I did. But I find that I have to go through a lot of extra work only to solve a "small" problem. I was hoping to solve the problem with minor modifications. Cheers!
  7. Hi all, I'm having the exact same problem with the "Found new hardware" wizard. I'll provide you guy's some extra info on my specific problems that might help us out. I'm preparing an Unattended Installation for a company. Before I used the silent install option for driver support. After adding support for a couple of different types of machines some of the drivers wouldn't install properly anymore. I'm now using the OemPnPDriversPath variable in winnt.sif which works fine. The UA is supporting several types of Dell desktops and laptops (GX270, GX280, D600 and D610). After adding the drivers for the X1 (a new model, very light) my installation comes up with the unwanted wizard. My guess is that when the video driver (Dell driver, Intel Graphics Video v6.14.10.3943, A02) is being installed, Windows will be triggered to start the FNH wizard. I don't think it has anything to do with the winnt.sif or anything else in the unattended process but more likely in the driver. The reason for that is I didn't provide any display drivers at all for none of the supported types and they work fine. Normally undetected hardware will just show up with a yellow exclamation mark. Cheers, Michiel. BTW The driver mentioned above was an MSI setup. I used MaSaI to extract the .inf and .cat files and added those to my OemPnPDriversPath. Driver installs fine.
