  1. right, basically I want to run unattended Xp installs from my network with an unattended.txt. can I use bartPE to boot with network support & run this installation? so far i have created a bartpe disk & booted from it. what command do i need to run? can I configure files etc to setup network automatically so it automatically logs on maps drive & runs the install..?
  2. how do i setup the PE builder disk to run an unattended install from my network..? all i want the disk to do is boot up with network support & run a cmd to install xp from admin install on my network with unattended.txt
  3. First create an admin install of office 2003. search google for slipstreamin office 2003 & sites will give full details on what to do. Once you have admin office 2003 follow below. download office 2003 resource kit from microsoft site. install ORK & run custom installation wizzard. this will create an mst file & give you the command line to run with your office 2003(may need to add UNC path references). here is my command to run unattended install with My MST file "\\server\Office 2003\CD1\setup.exe" TRANSFORMS="\\server\Office 2003\cd1\New Custom Setup File.MST" /qb-
  4. Hi Fett, its working. i created this in my keyboard.reg file REGEDIT4 [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Keyboard Layout\Preload] "2"=- it runs a t12 & all my users now do not have a English[us] keyboard option. thanks all for your help.
  5. Hi Fett, you have contradicted youself on your reply. so you recon I should remove the "2" string from current _user at T-12 & not from hk_user\.default to get the US keyboard removed from the default user profile..?
  6. Fett, ive got cmdline.txt on the cd in $oem$ & have but a command in this file to point to updates.cmd which is located on the floppy drive.
  7. OK. ive got the cmdlines.txt pointing to a upadtes.cmd which is located on a:\ with the winnt.sif file. this cmd file then is set to run regedit.exe /s keyboard.reg. keyboard.reg is located on a:\ too. the reg file is set to delete HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT\Keyboard Layout\Preload\2 string as this is the keyboard string for English[uS] keyboard in current user (current user is not created so was hoping to clear from user\.default. the problem I have is that its not removing this keyboard layout in the default user profile. is HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT\ the default user string area? as an idea if I put a correct ntuser.dat file into the $oem$\$progs\default user will this copy into the default user profile or is the profile not created at T-12? im sure its easy to get rid of this keyboard option. any one any ideas.?
  8. im in the testing process but intend to try. run a vbs file from my CMDLINES.txt which deletes the second string. WSHShell.Regdelete "HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT\Keyboard Layout\Preload\2" I am hoping this will remove change the default user setting so when profiles are created thereafter it will not have English[uS] keyboard as a second option. ill post my results.
  9. thats exactly what I was looking for.. cheers.
  10. what process do you follow to create this directory for a cmdline.txt file..?
  11. thanks for the info.. turning off encrypted pssword & it logins in automatically.
  12. Ive got this in the winnt.sif but it doesnt get rid of the English[united states keyboard] [unattended] KeyboardLayout="United Kingdom" [RegionalSettings] Language=00000809 LanguageGroup=1 SystemLocale=00000809 UserLocale=00000809 InputLocale=0809:00000809 UserLocale_DefaultUser=00000809 InputLocale_DefaultUser=0809:00000809 any other ideas.
  13. Yes, AutoLogon=Yes AutoLogonCount=1 this is what I have set but it refuses to autologin. only need to auto login a few times but was just testing the once for now. dont want it to auto login forever.
  14. Dave332, its not ideal but ill give it a try to see if it works.. cheers
  15. shouldnt need to use a reg file it should logon automatically.. anyone else have an idea..?
  16. Auto login is set to 1 in winnt.sif. admin password is entered & encrpted. after install has completed it sits at the local admin box for password to be entered.. why wont it auto login for me..?
  17. my unattended install sets eveything to UK but it keeps English[united States] keyboard as a secondary keyboard option. how can I get rid of this completley in the winnt.sif file?
