  1. So I guess I am being told that this was the correct place to ask my question for win 3.1 ???? the game software hangout? I guess I never thought of win 3.1 on a floppy as a gaming o/s. And just when I was getting to like msfn now i have someone that is gonna refile my posts.
  2. Ok I have a bat file that runs at startup it copies all the files from my HD to my ramdrive. Then I have a bat file that I want to run at shutdown. that does copies all the files from my ramdrive to the hd and shuts down My only problem is that I have to my had shut down one of the programs that is running from the ram drive so that it can copy all the files back to the hd. Is there a command that I can use that will shut the program down with out me having to do it manually? Thanks
  3. Ok I was actually able to find it somewhere else. It is called Mini Win 3.1. Windows v3.1 on a floppy disk! Small INI and other configuration files plus batch files to automate building a bootable 1.44 meg floppy diskette that installs a working W31 onto a 2 meg ramdrive using either MSDOS v6.22 (or a compatible DOS clone) or W9x MSDOS v7.x or higher to read partitions larger than 2 gigabytes! PeepHole will boot and execute W31 on a machine that has NO hard drive! Mini-Windows is a compact version of windows 3.1 on a bootable DOS 7.1 1.68MB floppy disk. This is not the exact version of what I used to have but close enough. URLS in case anyone is interested. http://mw16.2ya.com/ http://www.undercoverdesign.com/dosghost/dos/ph_w31.htm
  4. Thanks for trying you. I have already been there that is not it. This is a WIN 3.1 boot disk win 3.1 actually loads up off the disk. it is not a dos boot disk. Thanks.
  5. OK I have lost my book mark of a page that had a bunch of disk utils on it. Some things that where there. Dos 7.1 Install and boot up disk dos 6.22 And this is what I want and can not find win 3.1 boot disk that loads with a ram drive and has network support. If I remember the page had a brown back ground. I have searched for two hours online and no luck If anyone knows where i am talking about thank you. and no this is not a warez request so please dont even go there. If you need to know I have every version of windows from win 3.1 on up and have legally purchased them. thanks if anyone can help
  6. Ok I have two seperate FULLY working copies of winxp that I have done everything to. Now I am following your directions exactly. in virtual pc. after the files are copied and it reboots when it gets done with the windows xp black screen it flashes to the blue screen of the install and then I get a blue screen with a error in it. I am doing this on two seperate computers with two copies of win xp pro sp1a that Do physically install and run perfect. Any Idea why the driver packs are messing it up? Guess I should just be happy that I have what I have. Or do the driver packs just not work that well. seems like they are kinda buggy. I run the runme.cmd and it says can not open file repeatedly but it does not give any errors and it finishes saying nothing about how it just jacked up my winxp files lol. Oh well
  7. I edited my post. sorry. I am unable to get the driver pack to work so I gave up but i have everything else working. Somehow when I was installing the driver packs it corrupting my driver.cab file is what they figured out on the nlite board. because as soon as I started over and did not mess with the driver pack it was working fine again. So I just decided to mess with it at work over the weekend on my laptop when I am getting paid to do it and wont get stressed because I am wasting my days off. I am all good for now thanks for checking have a good one.
  8. ugh I never gave up and I think I have won.... Atleast for the time being....
  9. presetup.cmd and setuporg.exe are not anywhere.... what makes those files? or how do I get them? thanks for the help.
  10. Ok I followed the directions exactly inside Installation_Instructions.htm which came with what I downloaded with the latest release. I did IT exactly. I used Nlite BUT nothing was removed on put in a unattended install. and before I slipstream the driver packs it installs with out any problems and runs fine. In virtual pc 2004 that is. But once I slipstream the driver packs in using either method 1 or 2 it will not install and I get this. "C:\windows\system32\presetup.cmd file not found C:\windows\system32\setuporg.exe file not found cause Presetup.cmd not in i386 uxpcd setuporg.exe no in i386 uxpcd check txtsetup.sif in i386 folder" This comes up after the system rebooted for first time after the winxp logo and right before it shows up that it is installing. in the light blue screen. I have started over from scratch 6 times and tried each thing I can come up with. And I searched on here and the nlite forum. and I can not find anything for the last two days that has todo with this. I have tried and tried. I saw that it is said that to test the drivers you can not use virtual pc or vmware. but I assumed it would atleast install? I would very much like to get some idea that i am not gonna be by jacking up my only pc. I have made several Unattended installs for winxp but never put the driver pack in one of them and Set my mind to it that I will get it to work and fit all on one cd. somehow. If anyone has any suggestion or a fix that would be real nice if you could let me know. If you have anything negative you could also be real nice and keep that to yourself. Have a nice day or night.
