  1. Hi Since updating by computer(windows XP pro) with SP2 I am not able to do shutdown. The system freezes at "Windows is shutting down" and nothing more happens. From the web i found :http://aumha.org/win5/a/shtdwnxp.php and tried to follow the guidelines but no luck Eventually I found out that the Graphic drivers are the problem. To exclude virus-problems etc.I did a clean install: When reformating the Harddisk, done a clean install of Windows XP with SP2 and installed all other drivers except Graphic drivers the Shutdown works. When finally installing the Graphic drivers the system dont want to shut down (Freezes at "Windows is shutting down") The drivers are the "Radeon Omega Drivers 2.6.05a (Catalyst 5.1)" from http://www.omegadrivers.net/. I even tried old version (same problem) I changed to ATI original drivers (same problem) Obviously I have to have new Graphic drivers in my computer (dont want to stay at 800x600 all my life ;-) No the wierd thing: "Restart" always work perfect , but NOT shutdown ( (Freezes at "Windows is shutting down") Can anybody explain what is going/is there a workaround to change the behaivor of "Shutdown" with somekind of parameter-setting so it can resemble "Restart"? /Z
