That could be the result of any number of variations between your PC's configuration and mine. I know for a fact it was MSN because the MSN upgrade to 6.2 concluded with a restart, after which IE launched MSN's own "Run Once" configuration home page (http://runonce.msn.com/en/runonce.asp) rather than Google. And the brilliant MS engineers not only chose to disable the home page buttons on the General tab in the Internet Options popup dialog box, but they also screwed up their own Run Once page. The temporary Run Once page is supposed to allow a user to change country settings, if necessary, and change the home page to MSN or keep the existing hme page. After that, it's supposed to go away...hence the name "run once". Unfortunately, it remains and the home page buttons remain disabled. I call that a hijacking. I assume from your comment that you either installed MSN 6.2 and never saw the Run Once page, or you saw the page and it worked properly on your PC (i.e., it ran once and went away). You wouldn't happen to know of an MSN-specific resource, perhaps another forum, where I could ask this question? I sent a support email into the MSN support abyss and do not expect a reply any time soon. I haven't been able to find an MSN forum so I'm hoping someone here knows of one.
