Welcome back.
Perhaps, you should add a notice about Insyde BIOS in your guide? Something like:
QuoteInsyde BIOS users, read this: your BIOS support isn't suitable enough for Windows 2000 installation altogether. The remedy, as of now, is your own patched BIOS, a ported one from another system, or compiled open-source BIOS such as SeaBIOS.

You can integrate all the SATA drivers as W2K should pick the correct one.
Oops, nevermind.
Looks like you have an Insyde BIOS, just like me. This is why installation does be hanging. So, as I see, the remedy is patched BIOS?

Can you reproduce it on the VM environment ?
Welcome back, Mr Cat.
Yes, I can. I apologise for such a long delay. I was dragged out of it by some other stuff I didn't mention here. So, as you asked, I've reproduced the issue. The first 4 pictures are on the VM environment without applying KEx. The last 4 are after applying one with the following settings:
MSVCRT NT6 Series COMCTL32 5.82
The rest of the settings are default.
As you can see, on the first picture I can successfully connect to root\cimv2. It's after the KernelEx it gives me the "The stub received bad data" error.
Please look into this issue.

Can you show me your environment by Virtual Machine Image ?
Since I use a real machine, I can use "dd" or "Disk2vhd" to create an image and then attach the link to the image to my message if I must share a virtual disk image with you.
Which method is more convenient for you?

The message was shown by error with winmgmts://localhost/root/CIMV2
plz try to execute wbemtest and open root\cimv2
I tried to do this (even with tweaked settings), and it shows me this error:
Number: 0x800706f7 Facility: Win32 Description: The stub received bad data.
I tried to tweak everything, still the same.

The binary for NT6.x is use many undefined functions, but it binary structure is different from NT 5.x, so, if I embedded all functions for it It would not work.
You can find it from VC++ 2019 binary with v141_xp option or not. :3
Thx for your answer!
I have other issues:WinSetupFromUSB refuses to work. It shows
WMI (Windows Management Instrumentation) seems to be not working. It's needed to obtain USB disk properties. Press YES to visit a web page, describing how to repair it, or NO to exit the program
The site is NOT working, of course.
And another one: the "properties" tab is not working in Device Manager and Event Viewer after I install the KernelEx. The Add\Remove Programs tab behaves oddly peculiarly. Should it be like that, and why?

Greetings, @Jakob99. Unfortunately, your method didn't work for me.
Everything in the text mode setup worked perfectly until the "Setup is starting Windows 2000" portion. Right after that, the installation hangs (if not pressing F5, F6, or F7).
If I hit F7 (as far as I've been concerned, it swaps the ACPI HAL with the standard one), the setup barely throws me a 0x7B BSOD.
If I hit F5 (select the type of PC) and select some of them, it either hangs (ACPI types in general) or greets me with a BSOD (non-ACPI) too.
Could you please look into this question?

It uses Qt 5.10.
Qt 5.7 and later are not compatible binary NT 5.x.
On Hedgewars issue: So it's not a problem with the undefined functions, you say, but with Qt?
And what about Audacity? On the "Source" page it says it uses GTK3 if using pre-built wxWidgets, but GTK2 if you compile yourself:
The wxWidgets library is required. Audacity 3.0.0 requires wxGTK 3.1.3, with our patches. If you compile wxWidgets yourself it should be built with the default gtk2 option, not with gtk3.
Please look into this issue.

Hello, Mr Cat!
Recently I tried your KernelEx update. It's truly a lifesaver for me. For example, thanks to it, I could launch a VLC player and the SDI. These two are working flawlessly! However, I tried launching Hedgewars and Audacity with the latest version available. Hedgewars couldn't launch, giving me the error:
The procedure entry point ConvertInterfaceIndexToLuid could not be located in the iphlpapi.dll.
As I have seen, this pack swaps the stock iphlpapi.dll with its own while still not containing that function.
And the Audacity first showed:
The procedure entry point SleepConditionVariableSRW could not be located in the kernel32.dll.
Then I tried to enable this function (the installer disabled it by default). Right after, it showed me:
The procedure entry point CloseThreadpoolWait could not be located in the kernel32.dll.
For Audacity, I couldn't enable the last function (and I doubt it would work even that way).
I kindly ask you to look into this issue.
Much love, SkyKuker (Kuks).

KernelEx for Win2000
in Windows 2000/2003/NT4

WinSetupFromUSB configuration
Yes, it did! All of my problems have finally vanished! Thank you very much!
Also, the WinSetupFromUSB finally works! No more of that nasty error !
Would be very nice if it was a prerequisite for installation of the KEx itself.
UPD: It works only if you set the User Environment Variable to >XP (>5.1.2600) using the tool supplied with KEx (NNNT4NT5.EXE).
