  1. I assume so, it has to store it somewhere doesnt it......but I hav no idea where if not in the registry.....
  2. Download his uxtheme and extract the image from there
  3. Hey Telenut, I just found this... Click Here Apparently it can't be done from the registry.....I find that hard to believe, but google doesn't seem to think so, it isn't the only site saying it can't be done. Setting must be stored somewhere though.....
  4. Hi, I've looked all over the forum and searched for ages on google but I can't find a way to enable, yes, ENABLE, netbios over tcp/ip through a script or reg entry. Anyone know of a way? I am sick of having my UBDVD do everything except this. It means at the mo i always have to right click network connectio, click properties, select internet protocol, click properties, click advanced, and then click WINS tab and then change the radio button to ENABLE instead of DEFAULT, I am really sick of it now, if anyone can help or at least point me in the right direction I will me MOST greatful! Thanks in advance
  5. I don't think it is a beta to a select few, even to them I am pretty sure it is still alpha.....the version i don't have is alpha.......or it would be if i had it
  6. I have Outlook 2003 on my desktop and my laptop. I want to be able to synchronise my e-mails contacts etc. between the too, so when the laptop gets mail and the desktop gets mail and they next come together on my network both lots of mail is transferred and everything stays synced. I have found numerous programs that do this....but all are expensive. I'd really like to find a FREE solution to this, anyone know of one?
  7. WOW great program! Extremely useful; love it!
  8. Did you build the system yourself? If so make sure you have the BIOS configured correctly, memory timings, bus speeds etc. Else you will see a terrible drop in performance. Some motherboards aren't great at autodetecting cpu bus speeds either, so if you haven't then configured it, you my be underclocking your processor without realising, check speed by right clicking my computer then clicking properties. If cpu is not being underclocked, then it is most probably memory config error, that will produce a bottleneck which could really REALLY slow down your computer. If it is running slow straight from fresh install of XP then it is almost defo hardware or hardware config. Good luck!
  9. Me too Daemon is far simpler than Alocohol in that you can do what you want very very quickly without the need for huge GUI
  10. Look forward to receiving mine, have always used Feodra in the past after trialing many many distros, but Ubuntu escaped me back then.....who knows, maybe it ill rpelace Fedora for me. Can't wait for Core 4 out in a few days....13th i think. Anyone used both and prefers one or the other?
  11. Hey Smurf22, that's the guide I have been using and it worked.....only it installs the wrong raid driver which of course causes setup to fail. i am editing the HWIDs as I type to try and solve this. Will post solution when done......if done
  12. YAY.....sort of It worked in that it didnt fail.....until it formats then it complains it is corrupt.....however i have noticed that it appears to be using the wrong driver...or at least a different one to what it is supposed to Any ideas? Is ths something to do with HWIDs, i reall wana integrate my raid drivers else the ultimate boot dvd is pretty useless it was working fine until i tried this too i am having to rebuild from an old disk....should have kept a back up....though thats getting increasingly difficult with my 200gb hdd being the one that gets formatted i have to back up on other hdds.
  13. Technically speaking, I believe modification of any windows file is illegal... especially the boot screen but I am not sure about this...
  14. Ooooooh, just had another though, it is a multi-boot dvd and a lot of the files simmilar to this one appear in each oses boot folder, I shall try copying the sys files there on the next build....you never know Well, i'm sure most of you do, but I am completely new to SATA and RAID....
  15. Hey Smurf22, Thanks for your help, unfortunately your suggestions havent worked I haven't got Xpise installed either.....never heard of it.... Any more ideas? I am making another build now just incase it was the disk (rewritables have caused me missing file probs before)
  16. I have a simmilar problem, I get an error relating to viaidexp.sys also, however, there is no original in on the xp cd to replace it with, I can only assume the driver packs have added this file.......but it causes the error and setup can't continue. Anyone? I have tried both runonceex and guirunonce....
  17. AH HA! It has taken over 3 days, but I finally found it: M1 + M2 This step is for DriverPack MassStorage users only! Go to the DriverPacks BASE, open the folder FILES\Multi-Boot_tools and copy the batch file copy_sys_files_to_temp.cmd to SHARE_1. Now execute it. Now go to C:\BTS_DPM_TEMP and there you'll find all the DriverPack MassStorage .sys files! Copy them all into the I386 folder of every share! Now we have the .sys files where we need them, but we still have to edit the txtsetup.sif files! Go again to the DriverPacks BASE, open the folder FILES\Multi-Boot_tools and copy the batch file slipstream_DPM.cmd and Fedit.exe into every share, execute it every time and delete them then. That's what i wanted. Not sure how i missed it, thanks for all your help anyway!
  18. Thanks for your help Wuhtzu the guide is great, i'll piece it together with my further research and see what I can do. Oh and thanks to djbe for the tips too...
  19. Please....someone? I have tried adding smoe lines to txtsetup.sif that I have since found in another post, but to no avail (Setup cannot continue due to an error in txtsetup.sif on line 21232) This line, along with many hundereds after it is unmodified since my last build and is completely blanki am about to see what happens when i delete it and all the other blank lines.
  20. I realise this post is a little old....but i have same problem with the same board.....please, anyone!?
  21. Firstly, I would like to say thank you and well done to bashrat, wow what an accomplishment, such a huge project yet working so well. However, I do have a slight problem. I have browsed through these forums for hours and still cant quite work it out... I have integrated your driver packs, all of them, using method 2, 'pyrons method' I did not use your batch files as they would not work for me (i am making a multi boot dvd as well as oem setups there are many other setups and...well basically they weren't an option). Anyway I have placed all of your driver packs, extracted, in a folder named drivers in the root of my dvd. The problem or rather, bit I don't understand, is when it comes to the mass storage driver pack. I have recently purchased a new SATA HDD, it is my first SATA one, and it took me a while to establish, that pressing F6 during my automatic setup would never work. Thanks to these forums, I found that it always refuses to copy the drivers from the floppy disk unless i do an attended setup or INTEGRATE THEM. Now I believe the Mass Storage driver pack, is for exactly this purpose, it is designed to auto install SATA or RAID drivers automatically...only the way it is configured I dont see how it would ever do this, because it is not until the GUI portion of the setup that the modified files kick in and windows starts searching for drivers in %root%\Drivers however the RAID drivers are required back in the text portion of setup.... So...it would appear I must edit TXTSETUP.sif to get this to work, however, this is where the big problem appears. a ) I dont really know what I have to add to textsetup.sif and b ) surely whatever I have to add, would have to be added for EVERY SINGLE RAID driver out there in order to achieve the driver packs goal and work universally on any computer. Sorry for making this such a long post and being such a n00b, but i really am lost in all this... any guidance really, really would be appreciated. Thanks!
