Intersting point that, windows frequently warns you about it yet I must have forced about 20+ monitors above there max refresh rate and all they do is go into standby and fail to display until you set it back to soemthing they can handle.....anyone actually damaged one in this way? Also would TFTs be damaged by this given that there are no beams and electro magnets to get damaged.....course there are other bits but surely not that would break by too fast a refresh rate, only fail to function until a compatible one was selected. Anyone ever broken a monitor this way then?

Oops...didnt mean to start a whole new thread, but n/m, anyone knows if all this is actually true: Click here A computer that lets other computers pry through your personal things and delete anything it deems unacceptable...surely not? That would have to be the death of windows, micrsoft itself and most of the other companies involved i think. Surely I have misunderstodd something or that page is wrong....

What sort of spec is longhorn going to require....? When XP was released top end computers were what? about 1.5Ghz and it ran on 233Mhz....in fact i have run XP on 200Mhz and it was better than 98! But, what sort of hardware is longhorn going to support......only brand new stuff? Also will it be 64bit only? Is 32 bit going to die on its release? And lastly, what about backwards compatibility with software? M$ pretty much managed it with XP.....but it sounds like Longhorn is to xp like xp was to 98.......or am i wrong? Thanks in advance!

Driver Pack Mass storage DOES NOT work with this. Like you I had many troubles trying to get a promise 378 working with mass driver pack...searched for ages in the forums and made a few posts asking for help but unfortunately only grumpy people who instructed me to do more research replied Anyway, if you integrate it manually, that will work fine. I got it to work this way after many hours of running BTS's batch files. Which unfortunately, mess up your disk for this particualr controller. <- I dont mean that to sound offensive, I admire BTS's work. Anyway, if you do it manually, and then integrate the mass storage pack manually too! NOT USING THE BATCH files else they'll screw it up again; then it will work. If you do use the batch flies it will appear to work, but, it will sett the HWIDs wrong (i think). Least, it installs the wrong driver and setup gets as far as formatting your drive but cant copy anything to it, which is most annoying.....

Thanks lost soul but I already have that.... Of course I wouldn't have prob with latest version, but my disk can't update itself and i woudl like to update skype at my own leisure without it asking. There was an updated version released on 13th of June, that was fine, until the 18th when another version came out. Just had a thought though, is there a command I could run to disable all network adapters and then another to re-enable.....? Thanks in advance!

Hi, anyone know how to install skype silently, but also, repress the prompt to upgrade. At present skype auto checks for an updated version and asks if you want to download it, it waits for your response which hangs the whole process i have going Anyone know how to say no to it.....

Then I would go with the Creative Zen Touch. It has a touchpad - like the ipod It has a battery life of 24hours plus - MILES BETTER THAN IPOD! Ipod batteries are renowned for being terrible they dont last as long as manufacturer claims (12 hours) and they tend to have a very short life span, though usually just over a year so the guarantee runs out Holds 20GB/40GB - two versions Most agree better sound quality.....though that's negligible Better file format support though! All in all beats ipod in all aspects in my experience (i have had experience with both). Only fault of zen is the software, which i dont like the GUI of, but you can use WMP or winamp or most other software mp3 players (even itunes!...which i dont like anyway) and that works just fine. Or, a recent discovery is a program called Notmad, (play on nomad) i urge all zen owners to check it out, in fact all Creative owners, whether it's zen, jukebox, or nomads, th software is really good. But that's just all my opinion.... Oh, forgot to mention, you're not locked to one computer with the zen, you can add mp3s to be played from any computer and you can drag them back just the same. You can also use it as a portable hard drive for files like the ipod, but be warned, the ipod beats zenny here coz the ipod uses the standard mass storage driver, so on Windows ME an above you dont need to dl any drivers, for zen you do....but i keep them on my pen drive for ease of use and its only a 1 meg download anyway....

Exactly, I believe in the US justice system just as I would the UK justice system and if it has found him not guilty then to me he is not guilty. As for this guy: What are you on? You can't assume he is guilty of molestation and paedophilia because of another totally unrelated.....and I believed unprosecuted incident? Yeh he shouldn't have dangled the baby off the balcony....but it doesn't make him any more of a paedophile than anyone else.....possibly less when you think about it As for holding hands with a child....sorry? When was that made illegal? Holding someone's hand does not mean you want to have sex with them! It is much MORE a sign of platonic love in my eyes than sexual love anyway. I'm glad you have no authority where the law is concerned because that is far from fair. You can say he is innocent, he has had a perfectly fair trial and been found so. I don't particularly like the guy and I don't really wanna see his face all over TV.....quite frankly I find it quite scary but that's irrelevant, because that's not a crime and so it isn't to be considered when condeming the poor guy.

I think it is a terrible shame what the media have done to him, everyone I know has been saying things like the above "nail the sick f***" and so on. Yet what's he done? Nothing. Sure he has some weird ideas.......ok very weird ideas, but that's no grounds to put someone in jail and take away their life like that. I think the media has caused a lot of unfair damage in this case, it was only because of that stupid BBC documentary where michael jackson was befriended then betrayed that he got investigated anyway. I think what the BBC did was digusting, and I don't know how much access you guys in america have to BBC channels, but i watched the verdict be announced on BBC1's 'extended news special' and the whole news team were extremely shocked. They spent twenty minutes talking about what 'could happen' if he was found guilty all the time implying it was going to, while waiting for the verdict and as soon as it came they had nothing to say. They rather quickly moved on to other main headlines. I think the BBC should pay for his $200,000,000 debts for what they have done to his image, turning the whole world against an innocent man like that is disgusting. Furthermore, licence fees should be scrapped and the money should come from BBC execs But that's just me hating the idea of licence fees.

I had the same problem, i was originally using runonceex to do it all, but decided i wnated a way of having 'profiles'. I made my own program...but it was quite buggy and i got fed up of it in the end, my programming skills aren't up to much.... Anyway, I went back to WPI as i had liked this the best out of the three options (i also didnt like the idea of paying for xplode). Being entirely html and javascript it is very very configurable and it has certainly grown on me even though i didnt like it at first. I suggest you use WPI for half an hour or so and get used to all it can do, when you find something it can't, drop a line on the forum or try editing it yourself. Just a thought.... Oh, just out of interest, if you dont mind sharing, where is it you are from? <EDIT> Oops, didnt see the flag never mind above question.... </EDIT>
