  1. Gonna get XP running on a i7-4790k with a HD7950, will be sure to test a good amount of games.

Also just to add something to think about here, I guarantee you there's a good amount of games that technically are compatible with XP (Sims 3, Sims 4, Battlefield Bad Company, Spore) but their DRM isn't.

Mr.Scienceman2000 - Interesting! So it is possible to run 720p on Windows 2000 pro.
How is streaming going in 720p?

All my videos in my video player should be max 720p: http://jesusgod-pope666.info/uvpf.php#/?playlistId=3&videoId=0

I hope to find something that can run it from windows 2000... time will see.

Latest version of VLC runs just fine on 2000, so expect anything compatible with VLC to work, granted your hardware can handle it (4K, 3D, HDR). Just keep in mind the latest GPU that supports 2000 officially is the GeForce 7950x2/Radeon X1900. I would assume BWC's extended kernel could help newer cards run and have heard up to a HD 4890 could run though.

  4. 11 was made to sell windows to our newer, "simpler" generation of young adults/kids who literally don't even know how a file works. We (power users and enthusiasts) are not their target audience since we are not as profitable as the latter and it really shows. For anyone wondering why 11 removed taskbar locations and the uncombining option, it's because the taskbar is made in JavaScript using EdgeHTML, they are powering their operating system UI with f***ing web scripting (seems like they want to copy GNOME a little too much), and on top of all else, they have repositioned just about every UI element destroying a perfect harmony of muscle memory and familiarity for millions of users, and for those who think an operating system encouraging you to download TikTok and Instagram "isn't a big deal", just go ahead and look at how much RAM it's using right now.

Appreciate this, will try when I get home, the main issue I faced however was 98 not even detecting the NE2000 device, which to be fair was not installed during installation so there's a possibility that it didn't install the files required for NE2000 devices, or maybe I'm stupid and wrong, who knows? Anyways, will be sure to try ASAP and get back to you with results.

  6. I am on a Ryzen 3 2600, I have tried 86Box, it was incredibly slow with no drivers or really anything good about it, I can't even figure out how to get QEMU to work, there's no GUI nor any GUIs currently available and updated for Windows 10, plus even with a slightly older GUI I noticed there were virtually no GPUs to choose from, even when I've read "QEMU can do Voodoo emulation!!!", DOSBox-X ran at great speeds and had all 3 of the things I had requested albeit with an older sound card which wasn't an issue since I enjoy the OPL synth sound. However, a major deal breaker was that I couldn't figure out how to get the NE2000 Ethernet emulation to work which meant no networking whatsoever, along with the issue they don't have an IRC or a Discord chat which stopped me from getting support quick and easy, plus I ran into issues with the virtual CD-ROM device , so what I'm trying to figure out is, how I can run 98 reliably, with good CPU speeds, a decent GPU, 512-1024 MBs of RAM, sound, and networking?

  7. I don't currently have screenshots, but Windows 98SE seems to give me errors about random things but especially rundll32, and this happens on login, setup, and just while performing tasks like booting up MS office. I know this behavior doesn't seem to appear on Intel PCs, and it happens on both Virtualbox, and VMware, any fix available for this?
