In my offline Windows XP machine i use Malwarebytes 2.2.1.1043 and i use another computer to download the updates "Rules".
The latest rules is from 17 October , it seems they stopped updating it via side loading, how do you manage to update your Malwarebytes?
I used to use this link:
http://downloads.malwarebytes.org/file/mbam_rules
I have already uninstalled it without problems, then i installed it again.
The scan with malwarebytes its very fast, its faster than MSE, lots faster i say...
I have installed the Malwarebytes and the MSE with latest known old virus definitions, should i stay like this and i´m good, or better unnistall MSE and stay only with malwarebytes free?
So, this way an anti-virus is a generic program that only catch or try to... a virus code.
Anti-malware is an all terrain program that keeps track of all bad stuff!
That´s teory but, want to know in practice?
Does Malwarebytes the anti-malware engine catch viruses like Mydoom "W32.MyDoom@mm"?
Better this way:
Does Malwarebytes even the V2 is able to have same kind of protection than using the MSE?
Switched back to the MSE.
It´s a work PC that i have on my job for testing devices.
Since 2013 MSE catched in this machine about 5 viruses by inserting usb pen drives...
One usb pen that i lent, when i inserted back in that PC was to late, all folders and files in that pen were coverted in .exe files...
I´m the only one on my work that worries about security...
Do you know what the latest version of the MBAM that this offline update works?
I prefer to have an updated virus defintion than an updated app, as long as it works good!
This was what i have when installed, 13-06-2019.
Update using the 2 files on this link "http://downloads.malwarebytes.org/file/mbam_rules" restarted pc and all the same!
It says it´s updated but the version stays always the same in the screenshoot, guess is not working.
Have to find another solution for my offline XP service pack 3 PC.
It´s strange because it passes almost a month now since i ran the update files and it keeps saying that updates are current.
I ask also if that 2 files ".exe" i ran, in fact have updated it´s virus definitions ...
I´ve installed free Malwarebytes 3.5.1.2522 running on my offline Windows xp service pack 3 computer and have downloaded from here http://downloads.malwarebytes.org/file/mbam_rules the update from 2019-06-13 and until now/today i didn´t update it, when i open the program it says on status of actualizations that is actual, is that normal?
Is it really updated with that file i downloaded?
Or it will always say that?
Because i can´t see anywere saying the age and version of the latest update on the apllication.
Sorry for my English.
So, i think it does replace MSE.
One part says "Which Operating Systems does Malwarebytes 3.0 work under?
We continue to support all versions from Windows XP to Windows 10. Our Anti-Ransomware technology is only enabled on Windows 7 and higher."
Is it valid to the latest version of Malwarebytes?
Because i have installed Malwarebytes 3.5.1 as i saw somewere, that this is the latest version compatible with windows XP.
I´ve installed the Malwarebytes, but i think it isn´t a real antivirus, its just an anti-malware, a complement for a Antivirus am i right?
Were can i find an offline intaller for KAF19 (Kaspersky AntiVirus Free)?
