I was trying to uninstall SpeedFan few days ago, it came back on every restart. Later I noticed that every file created or deleted, every setting changed reverts back on every startup. I have to boot the PC from a Linux live USB to delete or add any file. System restore is off. I can't restore. I am not using a software like Deepfreeze and I have never installed. The problem started suddenly. Running Windows XP x86 SP3. Changing files in Safe Mode isn't permanent as well.
