go to RUN then type CMD then type MSCONFIG and then on the STARTUP tab. check which programs are there on the start up and for sure the problem will be there too. unckeck it and give us the problems name. Hey People, I got the solution to it myself, when instead of just Hanging, came a BSOD as well. The problem it said was with a file named idechndr.sys. From IDE i could make out it was a hard disk driver causing the thing. so i uninstalled evrything related to the Disk, google and found Intel Application Accelerator makes this file and had many people format their PCs. so i uninstalled it and now everything is working absolutely fine. But the question is, is it worth Installing again, The Intel Applicaton Software?Are the performance gains noticiable? I have the latest one. the problem started when I started using LongHorn transformation Pack. Thanks, The Rock

Thanks people, i am opting for copying all the data except the problem folder on another partition and Formatting the drive. Does formatting a partition quarantines or place the bad sectors in a inaccessible "place" of the harddisk. The Rock

@Nepali I think repair is when you replace some files and SFC asks you to put the CD in the ROM. Well had you been taught to read English as good as you are writing it, you would have read my first post. Try uninstalling and deleting all the folders, including the USER folder made by the setup file. then search the registry for speed or something related to the game name. delete [bE CAREFUL] all the related entries. Then install from scratch. If this doesnt work, maybe the hardware you have isnt compatible with the Game or has issues, update your drivers of all the hardware coponents from their respective websites, and let us know your Hardware configuration. Thanks InTheWayBoy for your concern. But herein lies the problem. Wudnt it better if you could tell me how to open the .sif file, where to find it (i used the search function), where to put the text? As far as i am concerned, i think i should open it with a word-editor, copy the text at the bottom, and replace the file in the CD-To-Be-Made with this file. Am I Right? You thought i already had a .sif file which is giving me problems?Or will this file be made after i create an nLite'd CD ISO and edit it before the burning process. I know this is asking too much. Hello People, I am not a novice when the term Computer is put in front, but a first timer to making an unattended CD. I know a lot of you would be having this is mind.... or Yes it is true. Moreover i have the Unattended CD Guide in .pdf. format. But the problem is, there are at least 50-60 posts in each thread i visit, with some BIG problems. And the website or the guide does not tell me what i need to know. So please help me out, tell me how to do the things i want to do. Please, if you can, dont:- 1)Give me a link to the solution, which in turn requires 10-12 more links to be clicked just to forget what i was looking for. 2)Bash me, i am as eager to use the featuresas you were. 3)Use the-very-much-technical-terms. All i need to know is:- 1)If i use an nLite'd CD, will it let me create paritions? If yes, then is it by default or I need some other files or settings in some existing files? 2)How do i create custom Installation screen? Like the screen which says "TRY THE BEST AND FASTEST WINDOWS EVER WITH THIS AND THAT SUPPORT" and comes up in a blue color while installation is in tprocess. Is it possible? If yes, then Do tell me the ways to do it. I need to place a JPEG file instead of that stupid thing. 3)Can an nLite'd CD repair a corrupt windows as well? People, thanks for your concern. Saraband, the problem is not ACCESS DENIED, i know how to take the ownership very well. the problem is the folder hangs the PC whenever it is accessed. I am trying to format the drive with the DATA backed up. Will update later. Thanks, The Rock

People, Thanks for your concern. let me answer your questions. I can go to the Safe modwe, but to get the hang again. i tried SCANDISK /r 10000 times. I cant rename the folder. Even if i click on it, it hangs. The HardDisk LED doesnot Blink. This problem is with a folder containing some 30-35 .pdf files. Thanks, The Rock

the problem seems to lie in 1 of the 4 subfolders and i have problem deleting it. But it is not deleting. If i use GUI, it hangs, if i go to CMD and use REM FOLDER XYZ, it hangs. Anyway i can delete this stupid thing? The Rock

Hello people. A folder on my 4th partition (F:\)(19GB) is not accessible, deletable or do-anythingable. as a i click on it, computer hangs. i go to it using CMD, PC hangs again. I use:- 1)Norton Antivirus 2005 (UPDATED TILL DATE) 2)MicroSoft AntiSpyware (UPDATED TILL DATE) 3)SpyBot S&D 1.4 (UPDATED TILL DATE) 4)Ad-Aware Professional Edition 1.06r1 (UPDATED TILL DATE) I cleaned everything. But the time they access the folder, computer hangs. it started since this morning, when last night i successfully ran these softwares and Defragged using PerfectDisk7. fsutil dirty query f: Shows the drive is NOT dirty. i scanned it last night to find it as OK. But today, scandisk fail and Computer hangs. All my setups, movies, songs are in this drive and i need it badly.
