  1. Hi there guys, Well I tried my unattended out and it didn't do everything I wanted, some reason it was resourcing at 100% whilst doing the runonceex, as it said it was installing a programs but it still had the process for the first installation ( must admin im installing sql server 2k, office 2k3, and other large amounts of software from CD ) Has anyone tried creating an script in VB that will allow you to do everything? Or I should be asking, does anyone know of any reason why I can't link the cmdlines.txt to a exe compiled in VB, which will check and install all software I require? Thanks Gav
  2. Hi there, Sorry for being such a prat and not getting this. I need to know when exactly runonceex is called? I want to be able install all my software, drivers ( exe ), change reg settings etc, whilst using the runonceex gui. Does this start after the 2nd reboot? Help is appreicated Gav
  3. Another thing I suggest is search for %SystemDrive%\inetpub\wwwroot\default.asp if that file exists then iis has successfully installed, if not then it hasn't. Gav Oh sorry, another thing you could try is do a IF and ELSE statement, IF exist %SystemDrive%\inetpub\wwwroot\default.asp then start /wait %SystemDrive%\app.exe else echo "Bypassing .NET setup due to iis installation failure" end if Something like that, remember you have to double check on that coding as I haven't tried it and im an asp programmer so that would just be a wild stab Gav
  4. winace user here lol I knew you could do things like that, but saying that my mate gave me a dvd with an unattended setup on it and asked why it didn't work, so i'm making my own. Plus my family owns a computer business in the north east of England, and we need a quick and easy way of installing a os and software on there before we roll them out. Looked at the way you lot marvel the Microsoft wonders and well I am very impressed and I am learning yet again. Now I need a way of being able to download information from the internet whilst installing xp ? Anyone know if you can? Im connected via wireless router and cable modem ( im non wireless connected via ethernet ) and my network card does not need any drivers to run. If you know of a way, please let me know? Thanks Gav
  5. I knows thats why I posted the information originally, if you run the exe version you can get the msi exec from your temp folder Gav
  6. Thats providing you have the version that is MSI, if you goto their website it only comes as a EXE package. Not MSI. Gav
  7. Hi there Guys I was sick of trying to silent install Deamon tools, well found a way. Open the executable, and then goto C:/Documents and Settings/username/Local Settings/temp/ If its full of stuff, close Deamon tools and delete temp files, then reopen, you will notice a weird file 34hj2ho.msi in there, copy it out onto your desktop and rename to deamon.msi close original installation, and then test... Now you can use the correct switches without any problems. Possibly update this on your tutorial page? Gav
  8. Hi there, I need some quick help? I want to run Stinger ( virus scan ) before I install any other programs. Is this possible, its not an installable file, you execute and then click scan. Gav
