  1. Yip. Oversight on my part for not including that key piece of info. Thank you very much for all your patience and assistance nonetheless. You guys on this forum really are great!
  2. PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_4380&CC_0101That's IDE emulation mode. No SATA drivers required. OS default drivers support this machine. The BSOD 7b refers to another reason: e.g. USB boot device It's a Dell. Read FAQ 3 http://www.msfn.org/board/topic/116766-faqs/ We have a winner. Modified the ntdetect.com file (as per the link) and took a gamble and used the USB again to try and install the normal OEM Dell windows xp service pack 3. Windows XP is now finally loaded on my Dell OptiPlex 320. Such a simple solution, but one I would have never come across if it were not for this community. Thank you from the bottom of my heart to every person who helped in this thread. You guys really are a wonderful help and I do appreciate every single post in this thread. Thanks again!!!!

  4. I am using RUFUS to make the USB bootable from an ISO image created by nLite. Wanting to install 32bit version (x86) of windows XP.
  5. Will do a screenshot when I get home and post. Currently at work. I am installing (trying) windows XP from a USB. Does it make a difference whether its from a burnt CD or USB?
  6. Thanks a million for the help. But I don't see a txtoem file, so I think these are pnp drivers and NOT textmode drivers which is what I need.
  7. Yes sir. Windows 7 32 bit installed with zero problems from USB. Many missing drivers still need to be installed like Video, but it installed and works nonetheless. Just using generic VGA driver for video.
  8. If it's not too much trouble, could you upload this driver here so I can download it and try it? The ATlide.inf driver is a pnp driver and not a TextMode driver. Would the pnp work for a windows XP install as I thought only TextMode drivers worked??
  9. Have tried Slipstreaming Fernando's drivers via NLite without success and the exact same BSOD. And yes, Dell only provide a PNP driver for when windows XP is already installed (suppose nobody at Dell thought that far to first provide the driver to get Windows XP installed to start with). Besides that they are of zero help.
  10. Have tried slipstreaming the Mass Storage Drivepack via Driverpack Base and that also didn't work. Same BSOD.

  12. Tried that. Used an OEM Dell Windows XP SP 3 CD. Used NLite to select the single driver in the x86 folder. Selected the x86 driver (gave me a choice of two drivers the other being the x64 driver) and used TextMode to integrate. Same BSOD. I am really dumbstruck by this. Especially considering the PC was running windows XP before the hard drive crash.
  13. So I have a Dell OptiPlex 320. Need to re-install windows XP on it. Old hard drive crashed. So brand new hard drive bought which obviously doesn't include Dell's recovery partition. Hard drive is SATA. No option in the Bios to run SATA in "compatibility/IDE" mode. So need to install SATA drivers via slipstreaming into the windows installation using NLite. problem I have, is that not a single driver I could find seems to work. Keep getting the BSOD with the following error: "STOP: OxOOOOOO7B (OxF7BF2524, OxCOOOOO34, OxOOOOOOOO, OxOOOOOOOO)" According to google the OptiPlex's SATA driver is a AMD SB600. Loaded Windows 7 32bit (with zero problems) on the machine to see what CPU-Z says the chipset name is: Northbridge, ATI RS400/RC400/RC410 Rev01. Southbridge, ATI SB600 Rev. 00. Can anybody help? I am officially beat. Just point me to the correct driver so I can finally install windows XP. Cannot believe I have spent over 50 hours looking for a solution without success.
