Thanks totoymola for pointing out the error i made in my dir structure actually, $I386$ is supposed to be at the root. I'm making an installation CD. I have just confirmed at http://unattended.msfn.org/xp/oemfolders.htm Its kinda strange i overlooked that and yet I was refering to it over and over again during my CD preparation. Anyways thanks guyzx - soulin, Bâshrat the Sneaky, Astalavista for your input I appreciate that alot. Am going to correct my error and will post the outcome.

All the files and folders I put in i386\$OEM$\$1\ failed to copy over during install. I have ensured that I OemPreinstall=Yes. This is how I placed the files & folders (including the winnt.sif & my batch file - mbithi.cmd) in my CD I386\$OEM$\$1\Install I386\$OEM$\$Progs I386\$OEM$\$1\Install\mbithi.cmd I386\winnt.sif My unattended process went on well and Winxp professional was installed and tweaked according to the settings in winnt.sif. That tells me the winnt.sif file was processed. I used Nlite to produce it and manually edited the option - OemPreinstall and set it to "Yes".
