Hey! Wassup dudes! New comer here. I've been reading this thread, Tweaks #1 and all the other linked ones for the past 4 days and i've learned so much about inf files and reg hashes etc. I can pretty much write them in my sleep now. While preparing to finalize my unattended xp cd (AGAIN, version 3!) I had a moment of clarity. I've been making so many darn .reg files why don't I automate atleast some of the creation process... So i came up with this.... Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 ; Date: Thursday December 30, 2004 ; Time: 21:50 Eastern time ; Creator: Mr. Woop a** ; Title: Custom 'New File' Tweak ; Description: ; Allows creation of New Registry Hashes with header via the New context menu. ;This is the file description Appended after New filetype.extention ;Keep as "Registration Entries" for the purists. I like calling them hashes. [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\regfile] @="Registry Hash" ;Don't mess with this one. Lest you know what your doing. ;It'll appear as an invalid DWORD value in regedit. ;However all things musn't look pretty for them to work. :) [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.reg\ShellNew] "Data"=hex(4):57,00,69,00,6e,00,64,00,6f,00,77,00,73,00,20,00,52,00,65,00,67,\ 00,69,00,73,00,74,00,72,00,79,00,20,00,45,00,64,00,69,00,74,00,6f,00,72,00,\ 20,00,56,00,65,00,72,00,73,00,69,00,6f,00,6e,00,20,00,35,00,2e,00,30,00,30,\ 00,0d,00,0a,00,0d,00,0a,00,0d,00,0a,00 You can add this reg at any time during the setup process... Also, I've attached an updated version of that tweak. Its difference is it allows you to make Version 4 .reg hashes. (ex. Win9x) I hope this one helps you guys out.
