i have tried 7.2.0 but the icons down the left hand side are missing from the WPI.hta... i will check your other posts about the $OEM$ folder...

i dont think that it is the start .exe... i run wpi from a dvd using 'runwpi.cmd' .... it might be me running a cleanup .cmd at the end, but i doubt it... it looks like the install has lost its 'path' at the end, then desides to crash as it cant find the rb_config.js, then it just hangs... if i knew what file the code is contained and what part i may be able to correct it, but as yet i cannot find it... thank you for your time, its much apreciated..

afer winxp install... its happening right at the end of WPI on the last app... i have to use the three fingerd salute to kill WPI to get to the desktop.. i notice that the rb_config.js is still in the root of the hdd... is this because its not loading the desktop before install?

hi, i'm using WPI 7.1 and after the install has finished i get an error saying ''could not open reboot config file'' rb_config.js any ideas?

hi peeps, i notice that nlite runs the nLite.inf from the cmdlines.txt. now what i was wondering is can i remove this form the cmdlines.txt and add it to a batch file instead? something like this: START /WAIT "rundll32 advpack.dll,LaunchINFSection nLite.inf,U" START /WAIT %Systemdrive%\Finish.vbs CDR.exe open %CDROM% START /WAIT %Systemdrive%\Restart.vbs shutdown.exe -r -f -t 04 -c "Windows XP will now restart..." reason being as it is interfering with the cdrom drive opening when it is in the cmdlines.txt. p.s. the .vbs files are just promps.

thanks peeps ,,, but its the %DEFAULTUSERPROFILE% (hidden systems) that the app is in. i have no problems with the ALLUSERSPROFILE. oooh and the Q/ = do not prompt to delete ,,, and the /F = force deletion

hi peeps i think i have found a little bug. it goes like this .... after the install i have noticed that the boot.ini is not correcting the noexecute option correctly. it seems that it is still retaning the origonal defalt of noexecute=optin and the new noexecute=alwaysoff goes like ths: multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP Professional" /noexecute=optin /fastdetect /noexecute=alwaysoff no big deal, as i can edit it after the install just thaught i would let u know.

thanks for the replys peeps, i'm wating to hear from ECS. but it seems that i have a not to well documented proc. i have a AMN3000BIX5AP,,,,, and yup it is one of those horrid SH-CO models. i was using the proc for testing the capabilities of the ECS 755-A2 M/B to see if the ITE8705F chip was working ,,, lol the proc usually resides in my acer1500 lappy. and a sempron 64 1800+ was purchased for the M/B everything works fine in my lappy, so its not the proc. the same windows disc ws used for both installs (testing purposes only) so its not the OS. i'll just have to wait till i hear from ECS. but you would think that a proc as old as the athlon64 and a board as old as the 755-A2 would work together... but they dont. a well u live and learn. ooooh and yes i have installed the correct drivers.... i hate to say it but i have MCSE, CCNA, HND computer hardware, BSC networking.... lol i have come across procs not showing there ID in a bios loads of times and a wrong speed untill correct clock is set,,,, but this one is new to me. regards amd64 i'll keep u informed what ECS say.

yup ripken204, i'm talking about ''windows xp sp2 my computer properties genaral tab displaying the wrong cpu speed. cpu-z utility displays the cpu at 799mhz while windows is displaying 351mhz at low speed at high speed its is cpu-z 1799mhz and windows is 799mhz this is whith cool'n'quiet enabled but when i disable it (no throtteling) it gets realy screwed up ... cpu-z says 799mhz windows says 799mhz now i know my cpu speed is 1800mhz ish so anyone got any ideas as to why?

first things first, thanks bashrat for a splendid job of your drivers. but i have noticed that while doing a fresh install on a asus kn8e-deluxe motherboard with raid on in the bios (this is the only way the board will boot from sata), that the drivers for the nForce 3 raid do not install. install works fine but keeps asking for drivers everytime i boot. wont accept the drivers off the asus disc, and wont accept drivers from driverpack. anyone got any ideas? regards amd64

ok here is my 2 bits worth.... after getting an hnd and ccna from college i went straight into 3rd year at uni doing a Bsc in networking (never realy enjoyed that so i droped out).... i went back coz i couldent get a job and was board so i'm currently at a uni in scotland doing a Beng, in embedded computer systems... i have a lot of friends in the computer industry.. and they all say .... get urself a good grounding in basic computer skills doesent realy matter what field coz ur gonna go from job to job in this industry.. so you end up doing something completley different from your degree. but where the big bucks are is in .. project managment ... cisco ... and database administration. just my opinion... but ur future is your own so do what you think is best... but it helps to get others opinions. education is fundamental to econamy ... without education econamy will colapse. please excuse the typo but i'm dyslexic....

well ... thats what microsoft say and thats what i thaught.. but it seems not after trying a few times.. dont know if this has something to do with nlite or sp2... can call everything else from A: but not winnt.sif and on another note. did you know if you change the CDROM variable to DRIVE and DRIVE.txt then set all your variables in your runonceex to %DRIVE% and use bashrats driver pack you can load apps from usb, (you have to put the DRIVE.txt file on the usb drive) this also works for partitions and other ide SATA drives
