  1. Hi, I use English UK for all my users. There is an application that uses English Australian as a workaround to another issue. The problem is that Australian date format is different. I need to change what date format windows uses for Australia. I have edited in the GUI, but when i set back to UK, it resets my changes. I have looked at intl.inf where i have made Australia the same as UK everywhere i can see. I then delete the intl.pnf, open regional settings, i can see the new intl.pnf get created, but australian hasn't taken the UK date format. Does anyone know if this is possible ?
  2. I used to have a very successful windows install, that installed software, joined domain, renamed computer etc, but when re-creating it recently, i find that all winnt.sif settings are taken, and after windows is installed, it hangs at a black screen. The ouse is visible, and i can move it around, but i have to reboot the machine. After this it has installed correctly, but i need it to auto logon, so i can start installing the software. Anyone had any experience ? Here is my Winnt.sif : Passwords and CD-key starred out for secrecy. ;SetupMgrTag [Data] AutoPartition=1 MsDosInitiated="0" UnattendedInstall="Yes" [unattended] UnattendMode=FullUnattended OemSkipEula=Yes OemPreinstall=Yes UnattendSwitch="yes" TargetPath=\WINDOWS Repartition=Yes FileSystem=ConvertNTFS AutoActivate = Yes [GuiUnattended] AdminPassword=******** EncryptedAdminPassword=No OEMSkipRegional=1 TimeZone=85 OemSkipWelcome=1 DriverSigningPolicy=Ignore [userData] ProductKey=******** FullName="IT" OrgName=" " ComputerName=* [RegionalSettings] LanguageGroup=1 SystemLocale=00000809 UserLocale=00000809 InputLocale=0809:00000809 [Networking] InstallDefaultComponents=Yes
  3. I have created an unattended CD before, that joined the domian and installed all required software, but would like to use RIS, basically to save on burning multiple CD's. Most of my PC's have PXE option, but some old ones do not. Tried the boot disk, but the required drivers are not installed, and i know I cannot add NIC drivers, so what do i do ?? Can I make my own floppy that boots to the same screen that the new PC's do when i press F12 ? I had heard that there is a method using Bart's boot disk, but never used boot disks before, so i need an idiots guide, if possible. MJW
  4. The reason for a script is because we have two domains, and two deploy locations(identical). The script detects which domain its in and maps the drive accordingly. Any ideas?
  5. I appologise if this has been covered, and if it has please point me in the right direction but i couldn't find it via searching. What I am trying to acheive is this:- 1. Runs cmdlines.txt from the CD at T-13 or12 (not sure which) 2. Which runs RunOnceEx.cmd from the CD 3. Which Runs a VBscript to map a network drive 4. Then the RunOnceEx.cmd runs another instance of RunOnceEx.cmd which is located on the newly mapped drive 5. The RunOnceEx reg entries are set by the networked copy, and they install the required software to complete my unattended install, at next logon. The idea is I can have a CD that I never have to change, and I can alter the network version of the RunOnceEx.cmd to make any software changes. The problem is at stage 3. The VBscript doesn't appear to apply, even though it works perfectly from windows!! Has anyone succeeded in doing what I am describing, or have any knowledge on mapping network drives at this stage of the install procedure?? Cheers for your help Mark
