  1. Actually 4KB Logical Sectors CAN be emulated. I wrote emulation software to test my DOS Patches up to 32KB Logical Sectors and to test my Windows 9x Patches up to 4KB Logical Sectors before I got my first 3TB USB Drive. Oh, i did not know that. But anyway it's okay, i'm gonna hunt down a USB stick instead.
  2. jaclaz: Hey, thanks. Well i'm gonna call this case off, because i can easily fix this problem by buying a USB stick with 32 - 64 GB. Nowadays USB flash drives are dirt cheap. Thanks everyone for helping me!
  3. There is nothing to "fix". As MS would put it , this is by design. You have two possible workarounds: get the RLoew's Patches and "update" your Windows 98 System buy another USB disk, decently sized, like 320 Gb or 500 Gb MAKING SURE that it is 512 bytes/sector and live happily with it.After all your original plan was to use just 100 Gb of that 2 Tb disk with Windows 98, right? jaclaz Well, i can try RLoew's patches or buy a 500 GB external HDD. Oh, thanks for the help all. Edit: To be honest i'm kind of disappointed in myself, i had no idea with the 512 byte and 4k native sectors stuff. Also i know that there's no turning back, 4 kb native sector cannot be emulated.
  4. What do you guys want me to do first? I want to fix this badly!
  5. I can confirm that my model number is STBV2000100
  6. Well, my model drive is: SRD00F2 (Seagate Expansion Drive 2 TB) Also, what kind of patches are necessary for the drive to function under Windows 98 SE?
  7. I don't know if this is what your looking for, i am really confused if i'm doing right or not. But i gave it shot. http://www.sendspace.com/file/pccazp
  8. Well, actually it is detected. But no drive letter pops up. BTW, my NTFS partition has 1.71 TB and my FAT32 partition 100 GB.
  9. Hey everyone! I have stumbled in a little problem. I bought an external HDD and Windows 98 SE can't detect it for some reason. The HDD is a Segate Expansion Hard Drive with 2 TB. I created two partitions on the HDD, one with FAT32 and one with NTFS. The HDD has USB 3.0 but it should work with 2.0 if i'm correct. I have the Universal USB Driver by Maximus Decim (ver.3.6) and Windows 98 SE Unofficial Service Pack 3 (3.23) installed in my computer. Also i should note that my motherboard is a ASUS P4P800S-E (Socket 478) with USB 2.0 ports. Please, feel free to reply if you have a solution to this problem.
