  1. Tomasz, the problem I came across was exactly the same as described Bug 2. I was installing on the physical machine, not VM, it was clean install, so here is the list of installed compoments: Windows 2K 5.00.2195 SP4 - worked fine Windows2000-KB891861-v2-x86-ENU.EXE - worked fine WindowsInstaller-KB893803-v2-x86.exe - worked fine Windows2000-UpdateRollup2-x86-ENU.exe - worked fine Windows2000-UURollup-v10d-x86-ENU.exe - worked fine Windows2000-UURollup-v11-d20131218-x86-ENU - Bug 2 occured! Nothing else was installed, even device drivers. The only external device attached to the machine was USB DSL Modem. System partition was FAT32 formatted. Not sure if it does matter.
  2. Thanks. I already have this archive from Tomasz sitting on my HD. Looks like it's time to try. By the way, BlackWingCat's HFSlip works fine on virtual machines either under W2k or under WXP. I came across the problem only when I tried to install it on a physical machine.
  3. Sure thing! SP4, Rollups - everything was intact. I had tried Tomasz's 'stable' version 10d, and it works fine, but this later one version 11 doesn't. As for BWC's HFSlip compilation, it also never worked for me, I couldn't even install it, installation stopped right after the timezone screen and process hanged. Tried a thousand times with different W2K discs, different F5 HALs (BWC told me to try) - nothing. So sad...
  4. Hi everyone. Yesterday I decided to try Tomasz's Windows2000-UURollup-v11-d20131218 and, strange thing, after installation system refused to boot, giving me a halt sign and countdown to reboot with message, telling that services.exe unexpectedly stopped with status code 128. This took place at the time when 'Windows is preparing network connections' startup message was on the background. I managed to boot only after uninstalling this UU Rollup in the safe mode. So the question is - what was it? No viruses, fresh W2K install on the dedicated test machine. Any idea? Or I just have no luck with any 'Powered by extended kernel' updates? Never managed to get BWC's updates to work. That's it. Hope Tomasz would make it a bit clearer for me.
