Hi, I have Seagate 7200.12 500GB firmware:cc46. After powering up, it spins and makes clicking noise for a while then stop spinning. PC bios cannot detect it. I go to serial terminal. The result is in terminal log. What is the problem of this hard drive (head, firmware or both)?

Hi, I know there is the way to change WD usb hard drive to sata hard drive. So, it can be imaged by sata imager in the same way as sata hard drive. I don't know how to do that. Anyone can guide me on that. Thanks.

Hi, I have WD5000BEVT 2.5". I connect to PC. It spins up, clicks 1 time, stops then back to spin, clicks 3 times, stop. It repeats 3 rounds. On 4th round, it spins, clicks 1 time, stops then back to spin, clicks 4 times, stops. On 5th round onwards, it spins, clicks 4 times, stops. PC BIOS does not detect the drive. On imager, it spins, clicks 1 time, stop then back to spin, clicks 3 times, stops then enter DRDY state. After doing rescan, it spins, clicks 1 time, stop then back to spin, clicks 4 times, stops. It repeats 3 rounds then back to BSY state. Is it mechanical problem or firmware problem? and can it be fixed by serial terminal with usb to ttl adapter? Thanks.

I have checked again. It's the same. It spins for a while then stop spinning. After it stop spinning, I cannot issue any command including ctrl + z. What is your comment?

It also spins up for a while then stops. I use usb to ttl adapter to communicate with my bricked hard drive. Hello, I connect to PC. After powering up, it spins up for a while then stop spinning. During POST, it shows up in bios then freezes POST. PC cannot finish up booting. Can terminal configuration help? Or any advice?
