  1. i know about that part "newer" is not always "better". and i disconnet all other hard disk before i do it i read this http://blog.yimingli...-firmware-sd1a/ btw yesterday before posting post here. i asked for SD2A update becase i read somewhere i think it was youtube comment about that SD1A update on my disk model ST3750330AS 750 GB not all baracuda 7200.11 brings another kind problems like bad sectors etc, but we all know that people writte all kind of bul***** on internet, but i who know it can true , so i ask if somebody knew something about it or had experinace with my model of barracuda (ST3750330AS) I done update SD1A so we will see if i got any problems i ll post here, so other with same model can see. About SD2A i didn t find that in any other place beside those ukrain site i post it before and i am not sure if is it official firmware from seagate, but when it comes about tehnology most of time if look for something i find it on russisan or ukrain sites or something like that with a help of google trasnslator of course, Like i said we will see how long it is gona work etc. and thanks for help jaclaz
  2. thanks jaclaz, again both tests short and long are pass. now i am gona try update firmware btw only other place where i find firmware is this : http://fant.hl.ua/drivers/index.phtml?fl=Barracuda11-ALL-MSSD2A.ISO&fldr=/HDD/Seagate/ST3750330AS/Firmware_SD2A/#.UmKlUFPlMUN here it says SD2A do you know anything about it? ps. i update it successfully to SD1A now we will see how long and how good will it work
  3. thanks jaclaz i already saved date from it and i think i done fast test with seatools (something i booted from usb stick i find devolpers version on seagate site) i ll do that both tests again (long for a first time) and then i ll post here. my disk is Segate Barracuda 7200.11, model ST3750330AS, and serial number 9QK0ZVAC and firmware SD15, it is 750 GB. i know that if everything past good that my disk wouldn t been "fully functional" even then, but today most of disk don t last "for ever" neighter and i pay this pieace of shit before 4 years or more i am not sure any more and it "died" after couple months and i used to read this thred then but in that time wasn t so big as it today(it wasn t then manny people who managed to unbrick they disk as today) During this time this pieace of shit was laying around and i allmost forgot about it untill i was cleaning my place and find it and decide to give it a try, At that period i chaged 3 WD disks luckly for me they were all under warrenty and most importan they had official distrubuter for my country which seagate didn t have and i if wanted them directly to give me a new disk i would need to send my back to them and the closest place was nethelands and would cost for me as price of new disk, And btw, local store i buy it gave warrenty for 3 years but shortly after i bought my disk at them they "died" too,but was probably "resurrected" shorty after becase same people used to work at old company used too answer to phone in "new" company, probably the better word is " reincarnated". That is why i what to "repair" it so bad and i could buy new hdd today it would got for same money bigger disk but i want this piece shit to work at least some time ( 6-8 months at least) When i tried to "repair" it , i didn t expect that it would work i just hope maybe i learn something everything else was bonus. Now i ll do the test so we will see.
