  1. I'm hoping to either make a plug-in for Nlite or mabye get a copy of the sourse of nuhi and mod it. anything we do we'll send right back. if nuhi's reading this before I get emailing you, will you let me know what you think? some of the stuff I want to implement is the cool setup screens - hopefully I can make it automated - just select a picture and preview it Hopefully I can integrate Windows Post-Install (WPI 2.0) with Xplode so you just drag and drop in all your apps with little or no file hacking [ie, the app will take care of setting up the $OEM$ folders etc] and then WPI 2.0 will allow the user to select their apps if you allow them to. I also want to allow you to just import a reg file [or just copy and paste them in] and not worry about linking to it. I origionally was going to allow the user to set the oeminfo.bmp and the corresponding text but it looks like nuhi has that implemented now - still lots to do! Also simple things like setting the default desktop [can someone post a link to doing this?] cheers Jonny ps: please post any suggestions ye have, I'll see if we can fit them in in the time allowed.
  2. hey guys, I've been checking out this site for the last few months, its a really nice setup ye have here. this is my first post I'm a fourth year student in DCU in Ireland, and I'm hoping to do a tool for my fourth year project that extends the functionality of nLite (though in the last few months they've REALLY started developing it more and more, implementing a lot of the ideas i was going to do!) Anyway, I have have loads of things still want to add to the mix, like automatically setting up the setup screen for the user rather than having to hack it, etc [i'm open to suggestions!] Two things I'm trying to change are the default startup sounds windows makes - I always change my startup sound to logon.wav and shutdown.wav to logoff.wav, One because the other ones are annoying and Two, because they are REALLY embarassing if you turn on your laptop in college and that jangle comes out! one quick noise lets you know that the mackine is ready without making a big fuss. is there any nice reg hack I can use for adding this to my slipstreaming cd's? Secondly, I always create a "My Computer" toolbar beside the clock so I can access things like my memory stick quickly. I always have to create this from scratch in college by right clicking on the taskbar and going toolbars -> new toolbar -> and selecting my computer. its really handy for anybody who has not tried it . I tried extracting the reg entries, but these machines are locked down solid so I can't import the reg file automatically when I login can anybody think of a way of automatically creating this? if someone has the reg hack for this I can add it to my reg file for my slipstreamed cd [:)] or a cmd way for my login.bat here in college. either is good, especially a reg one! cheers for reading this far, I'll keep the posts shorter in future. Jonny
