  1. I know this is an old post, but I would very much like to see the ADUC snap-in you made. I need to make one ASAP and anything would help if I could see it. Thanks.
  2. I know there have been a million topics about this, but I have yet to find one to work that fits what I need. Here is what I have: Unattend with 2003 SP2 AND R2 all on 1 cd. Thats what I need. Right now, SP2 is slipstreamed and R2 runs in the guirunonce section of winnt.sif. The result is a 2003 SP2 install, but R2 fails. If I try to install R2 afterwards, it still fails. I NEED to get this to work. I need it on once cd if at all possible and I need it to be done at part of the unattend and not manual steps if possible. Any help is appreciated!!!!!
  3. Unfortunately DVD is not an option because many servers I have do not have a DVD ROM. As for the files, can I delete the entire Language directory under I386? Don't I need the files for something? I do not have an upgrade dir at the moment. I do have the "WIN9x..." folders, but they are empty.
  4. Hello. I have been using 2003 std R2 w/sp1 integrated on 1 700mb cd for quite a while. I now want to integrate sp2, but I am about 744mb on my iso now. Does anyone know if this is at all possible? I know if I remove the components directory, which holds my R2 files, it will go under, but I do not want 2 disks if I can help it. Any help is appreciated!!
  5. I just updated my 2003 unattend/sysprep to include SP1 slipstreamed. Since I did this, now when I begin the sysprep process, along the way it starts prompting me to approve unsigned drivers. These drivers are apparently being enumerated and it prompts me several times and proceeds to go down the list of drivers. I did not originally change anything fromt he original build. Could this be a SP1 thing? Anyway, I have done several things to the winnt.sif and sysprep.inf, aloing with adjusting the security template with no success. Thanks, DJ
  6. I got it fixed guys. I thought I would share the results. As I suspected, the SP2 slipstream included some crap for TabletPC. I am guessing it does this because the SP2 is used for TabletPC edition also. The only way I could get it to work is to use nLite. nLite is a util that allows you to create you unattended install, slipstream SP's, slipstream hotfixes, make bootable, and remove crap from the install that you dont want. I used it to remove unwanted stuff from the cd, including TabletPC stuff. I used it also to create my unattend file and then edited it manually. Now, my cd is much smaller and it works perfectly. nLite worked great for me. I have no idea why that TabletPC stuff was happening, but it was. Anyway, thanks for the feedback. -DJ
  7. OK. It appears that the slipstream is the problem. I created a new dir am simply put in XP source files and integrated the SP2. I then created an ISO of it and tried it in VPC. I did NOT use anything unattended. It asked for CD2. I cannot believe this!!!! Any ideas?
  8. OK. I went thru the entire thing again. i added some stuff to the winnt.sif, but nothing that looks important or major. Here is the new version I just edited: ;SetupMgrTag [Data] AutoPartition=0 MsDosInitiated="0" UnattendedInstall="Yes" [unattended] UnattendMode=GuiAttended OemPreinstall=No TargetPath=\WINDOWS [GuiUnattended] EncryptedAdminPassword=NO OEMSkipRegional=0 [userData] ProductKey=REMOVED FullName="" OrgName="COMPANY" [identification] JoinDomain=DOMAIN [Networking] InstallDefaultComponents=Yes [WindowsFirewall] Profiles=WindowsFirewall.TurnOffFirewall [WindowsFirewall.TurnOffFirewall] Mode=0 [branding] BrandIEUsingUnattended=Yes [Proxy] Proxy_Enable=0 Use_Same_Proxy=0 Hows this look?
  9. I am not running any runonce's. Here is my winnt.sif minus serial number: ;SetupMgrTag [Data] AutoPartition=0 MsDosInitiated="0" UnattendedInstall="Yes" [unattended] UnattendMode=GuiAttended OemPreinstall=No TargetPath=\WINDOWS [GuiUnattended] EncryptedAdminPassword=NO OEMSkipRegional=0 [userData] ProductKey=R-E-M-O-VE-D FullName="" OrgName="My Company Name Here" [identification] JoinDomain=My Domain Name Here [Networking] InstallDefaultComponents=Yes [WindowsFirewall] Profiles=WindowsFirewall.TurnOffFirewall [WindowsFirewall.TurnOffFirewall] Mode=0 [branding] BrandIEUsingUnattended=Yes [Proxy] Proxy_Enable=0 Use_Same_Proxy=0 Any ideas?
  10. Well, my sif file is very simple. The only things I want to accomplish are to have the license number inserted and disable the SP2 ICF by default. The rest is just fluff. My company only has XP Pro, so i know its not that. It is corporate edition. -DJ
  11. I used the command parameteres. I think I used /S:<path>. It appears to work fine, but it keeps asking for disk 2. I dont know why it is even concerned with anything TabletPC related. -DJ
  12. I did it with and XP Pro corporate edition CD. It is a legal copy from my employer. -DJ
  13. I have run into a problem that i have never seen before. I have done these things before without any problems. I just slipstreamed SP2 into XP Pro. Then, I created a simple unattend for it. When i run the cd, it gets about 50% thru the load and asks for XP CD2. This is crazy because i dont have 2 XP cd's. Its looking for some files from the I386 that look like they are for TabletPC edition. Has anyone had this? I have redone it different ways with the same result. i am teesting this thru Virtual PC. any help appreciated!! -DJ
